You think they should have favored Kovalev over GGG?

I certainly believe Kovalev is the more skilled of the two. However his past racist comments would not have sit well with HBO executives. Perhaps this is why they went with GGG.

Kovalev is Russian, and typically Russians have always had a presence in boxing so it would not have been that hard to promote him as this feared Russian monster.

They can't back more then 1 guy? They may have 2 PPV featuring Kovalev this year against Ward and Stevenson. How's that not backing him?

You're right, however I think it's safe to say that GGG is their new "face" of the network. Not Kovalev.

He's the better and more sellable fighter in a historically more important division. Those just be the breaks but Kovalev will also be considered an ATG when it's all said and done.

Yeah he probably is alongside Canelo now.

He's just more "sellable" then Kov in my opinion. GGG doesn't make racist remarks and he's always smiling. Just easier to sell

Maybe and Kov might prove to be the better talent

but GGG has a naturally likeable personality, Even casuals are drawn to him with his good boy antics and the way he jacks up his English.

Just a example my dad who watches probably 3 fights a year saw GGG / Monroe and called me up raving about GGG. I was like yeah he's legit but needs to step it up as far as competition but he didnt care he just sees the power and personality and he's sold.

Kov is a POS and I mean that in the nicest way but you can tell he's a bad ass mofo not as easy to market. hey casuals, kids cheer for this probable racist guy that's killed a guy and doesn't even seem to regret it go buy his t-shirt.

I think he should be marketed as the bad guy because it's not that much of a stretch. GGG I think is more palatable to Casuals IMo

Perhaps you can try English next time? I'm not entirely sure what language you were attempting to type here at all.
