Why sign to haymon? Look at guys like khan, thurman, stevenson, garcia, ect who are not fighting top guys to get to that next level of superstar and none of the guys with haymon make as much money as canelo. He makes more money and has more exposure on HBO then these dudes on whatever pbc network of the week that draws crap ratings. And he's now big enough where he can fight anybody he wants. Haymon offers nothing for him. Hell look at how Chavez Jr career turned out since going to haymon. In 1 year he ruined him.

Imagine Canelo future fights if he signs up with Al Haymon on NBC live vs Mayweather 2,Jacobs,Quillen,Charlo Bros,Lara 2,J Rock,Spence,Thurman,etc instead he'll be stuck on weak HBO fighting GGG & other no names.

Promoters and networks need Canelo more than he needs them, especially as the biggest stars of recent years are retired or almost there. Floyd established the May-September PPV pattern and now Canelo can step right onto that path and be the biggest money maker as long as he keeps winning.
