Toney was turned down in 1992 because Eubank wanted £1million and Barry Hearn could only possibly provide that sort of money for a Benn rematch. Jones was BEGGING Eubank to fight him in 1999, how sad is that??

But yeah I'd of loved to of seen Eubank/Toney in 92, it's just a shame that Eubank didn't give a toss about anything other than health and wealth - any hunger he had for glory died on the 18th of November in 1990 on the outskirts of Birmingham.
My mistake. I've missed a word out there. I meant to say Warren kept Eubank winning. But as it was Hearn that promoted him I believe it was him that kept him winning. Cos if what you say is true, Hearn could have go him these fights. I'd have Eubank losing in these fights. but they would have really been something dont you think?

I don't think McCallum would of had much hope, especially when he made it so public that he was going to pressure Eubank non-stop (McCallum wasn't a natural pressure fighter anyway, but being mid-30's too and against a pre-Watson Eubank - nah sorry Mike).

Eubank would of won the first six rounds against Toney. Toney was an in-the-pocket fighter, he didn't like fighters who moved around a lot like Eubank and Eubank had the reflexes, left hand work and everything to comfortably be beating Toney early on.

He just didn't have the stamina to keep it up with Eubank's **** stamina (often winning the first four rounds being struggling for air) and Toney being busier as the rounds progress in the second half of the fight would make it a close decision.

i have him a top 5 heavyweight, apart from Rocky Marciano, Lewis was the only heavyweight champ to beat everyone he ever faced and come out on top...
