        Haye and Povetkin.

He clinched, held, pushed down and generally fought scared both times, but his size advantage allowed him to get away with it.

Alexander Povetkin although I hated the tactics Wlad used

          Also:

Chris Byrd 2000 was a very good win
Sultan Ibragimov is a very underrated win
          Ruslan Chagaev
Jameel McCline, who was Ring #2 and on a 19 fight winning streak
Bryant Jennings, considering Jennings is very good & Wlad was 39 and faded
Tony Thompson 2008, not so much the more recent win over Tony
Sam Peter 2005 he was undefeated, strong and aggressive

          Several other fairly decent wins:

          Eddie Chambers
          David Haye
          Calvin Brock

          prime Frans Botha
          Axel Shultz
          Kubrat Pulev

          Monte Barrett

He has a very long list of very good wins but doesn't have that signature breakthrough win.

It would have been prime Povetkin, but that was an ugly fight.

So I guess it's shutting down Haye.

              Byrd or Povetkin.

I don't think Haye is anywhere near his best win he didn't beat anybody at HW worth anything.
40yr old Barrett who dropped him
              Journeyman Chisora
40yr old Audrey a gatekeeper at domestic level
40yr old Valuev? Chagaev and a nearly 50yr old Holyfield beat him more decisively.
              40yr old Ruiz

Beat a load of old men who for most part was never any good at any stage of their career.

The guy had the chance to fight Vitali, Chagaev (prime), Adamek, Fury & so on and his ass fell out everytime.

His wins have aterisks. Byrd was tiny compared to him. Povetkin got grapple****ed for 12 rounds. Haye and him both made it one of the worst title fights ever. So it's hard to say.

With so many good wins it's very hard to distinguish...

Samuel PEter didn't make the liist?

                  He's a top candidate.

David Haye seems like a good choice.

                  Alexander Povetkin is another.

We simply don't know which was better though because they didn't fight each other.

Haye destroyed absolute mountains. Povetkin cracked the hardest chins in the business, Peter revived the entire division and was one of the most feared punchers the division ever saw, like a "Super-Shavers" and "Super-Frazier" rolled into one.

It's a toss up between these 3 for me.

His most dominant victory over a top opponent though came in the form of Chagaev imo. Great opponent and a total shut out.

Voted Byrd though I think the better fighter overall is Povetkin.

He was slick, awkward and very crafty in his prime.
Had just beaten Vitali and bounced back from Wladimir with a string of quality wins far better than anything that Povetkin has on his resume.

Byrd holds wins over Tua, Vitali, an ageing Holyfield, a decent contender in Oquendo & McCline.
