He was justifiably banned from the 1996 Olympics. And no one suggested Vitali be Fighter of the Year that year.
But the privileged Mayweather gets away with it. And you expect him to be Fighter of the Year.
The Mayweather-Pacquiao fight result should be changed to no contest, but it won't because Mayweather receives special treatment.Comment

It wasn't in the Olympics, it was months before, but he was banned from participating in the 1996 Olympics. So he received his just punishment. No one is suggesting he should be Fighter of the Year for 1996.
In contrast, Mayweather took an IV injection before fighting Pacquiao, but there have been no consequences. Some even think he should be Fighter of the Year!Last edited by The Hammer; 12-27-2015, 04:16 PM.Comment

Fury winning the poll with a boring decision over a faded, past-prime champion. GGG is the real FOTY with 3 dominant top performances.Comment

Certainly not fighter of the year, but Amnat Ruenroeng deserves some recognition for another stellar year in the sport (even if he thinks it is wrestling)
Beat Zou Shiming in China where he was expected to lose, a decent contender in Casimero and some guy that noone knows anything about. The guy just doesn't know how to lose, even when he goes to opponents backyards.
Last year, he beat the massive favourite Ioka, who looked to be the next sensation at the lower weights with his dominance at 105/108, as well as a capable contender in Arroyo.
Just a shout out to a vastly underappreciated fighter, in a weight class gaining a lot of momentum.
My vote for FOTY has to go to Fury - he beat the dominant reigning champion to gain the biggest prize in all sports, the heavyweight championship of the world. To me, nothing comes close to thatComment
