So Adonis is the one that isnt tied down? So who is taking the blame here? the guy that is restricted or the one that isn't? If people are accusing Adonis or "Running" to Showtime or Haymon how come no one is accusing Kovalev or signing with HBO?

Is that why Showtime paid adonis more money? at the end of the day the fighters and their teams would go with the biggest and best deals, no fighter would be with HBO just because " Every fighter in the world wants a contract with HBO"........If showtime offers Kovalev a better deal best believe he would move there rather than re-new his contract at HBO.....Which Adonis did by the way, I just laugh at this comments about "Adonis running to showtime"

Adonis went to showtime and his contract expired with Showtime. They didn't re sign him.

That's not hard to understand. What's hard to understand is why should Stevenson take less money than he could make just because Kovalev is hamstrung by his HBO contract? This fight should've been made last year when it went up for purse bid. At that time Kovalev didn't have an exclusive contract with HBO. When both fighters were free to fight on any network and stood to make a lot of money, Kovalev resigned an exclusive contract with HBO.

The past isn't relevant in making this fight for june.

I'm not even mad at Stevenson for going to showtime instead of fighting kovalev, he did what was best for his pockets.

but Adonis is no longer a showtime fighter so now there is no excuse.

The facts are Kovalev can only fight on hbo.
Stevenson can fight on hbo or showtime.

So either Stevenson fights him on hbo or the fight won't happen.

Duva is saying hbo will allow Adonis on their network. And the new head of hbo says he isn't opposed to haymon fighters fighting on the network.

Adonis Stevenson could potentially end the haymon/hbo cold war, by coming over and fighting for the undisputed light heavyweight championship of the world.

Kovalev could have had the fight at the start of 2015, but he decided to sign with HBO instead.

Sounds like a team that wants to have their cake and eat it too. I'm sure he'd fight Stevenson, but his team wants it on their terms (HBO, etc). They are no more interested in making this fight "for the fans" than Stevenson's side is.

The past is very relevant in making the fight because we know in the past Adonis and Kovalev stood to make a lot of money. You seriously can't expect a person to do a job for less than they were offered previously?

Those are promising words coming from Duva and HBO. What type of money are they offering? Does it match what Kovalev and Stevenson could've made when their skills were offered on the free market? If not then the fight is a no go. When we start hearing dollar figures that's when we'll know if they're serious or not.
