I like Wilder a lot, I think hes a good fighter and is good for boxing. I think what most people dont like about him is the trend that Haymon fighters have had lately and thats get 1 good win than fight no hopers after.

Because he is fighting the local garbage men and construction workers of the world...Ya'll buy into fighters before they even step up to elite comp....I was guilty of this with Broner

because he is fighting high school teachers and cab drivers and he looks like total schit, he has limited skills, a glass chin and windmills his punches

it's totally ridiculous to say he's heavyweight champ.

Top answer TS, his boxing skills were very rudimentary and his power has been totally exposed now.

And not looking that impressive against them. His fight against Molina was a real eye opener for me. If he was blowing these guys away it would be one thing, but struggling with them and looking one dimensional against this kind of caliber of opponents isn't helping my confidence in him. He has legit power though, so that's always a massive advantage combined with his size. But he hasn't really passed the eye test as far as I'm concerned.

i think it is a combination of two things.

              1) his level of competition. he has some names on his resume but most of them are past it and the only 2 decent names with decent level of skill (At the time he fought them) are Malik Scott (but we know what people think about that fight) and Bermane Stiverne.

              2) some things he does in the ring look really wild and dangerous (for him) for example some times he swings uncontrollably, that could be as a result of his opposition but he could really get caught and knocked out cold. I think this is to do with his limited amateur experience.

overall i like the guy, i think he is a dangerous fight for everyone. His size, his power and athleticism will be a challenge for most. On the other hand i feel that if he meets someone with his size who has a good set of skills he might end up losing really badly and maybe by KO, but i hope he surprises me.

There has never been a more manufactured career than Wilder's since Muhammad Ali and there has never been such a prolific bum buster than the days of Kenny Norton and Sonny Liston...

He is a fraud that would ALREADY be exposed, but for the fact that he is for some reason allowed to side step ALL top boxers.

Not in your Wilder dreams would he beat Fury.

Wilder hasn't fought a legit opponent yet other than an out of shape Stiverne. If Stiverne had shown up for that fight in shape and not dehydrated, and if Wilder had beaten him in the same way, I would have been much closer to being sold because Stiverne is pretty good. But it's self-evident that Stiverne was only about 50%-60% that night. And even then, Stiverne's best opponent before Wilder was Arreola, which is only B-level so it's difficult to gauge how good Stiverne really is too.

That's why there are still a lot of question marks around Wilder, he doesn't appear to be half as skilled as Fury in terms of all round boxing ability but he does seem to have more one punch KO power.

It would be good to see Wilder prove himself to be one of the best out there though, if he had a close controversial fight with Fury it could set up another great HW trilogy.
