What's fair is fair. Good that he did the right thing.

Well thats dumb. If he had no intention of keeping his belt he would be $800,000 richer today. Cotto, is just a dummy who thought he was being smart by trying to prove to everyone that he was the man.
So the step aside fee wasn't necessary to allow him to take a more lucrative fight with Canelo?

Yes. He could just have vacated straight away and fought canelo for some JMW title ie WBC diamond emerald belt. I think the trouble was that canelo cannot make 154. He can only make it to his 155 lb division.

Yea, i don't understand that either.

People saying he doesn't have to since he's not the WBC champ anymore... but GGG was being paid so Cotto didn't have to fight him and could fight Cotto instead. Keeping the WBC or not, the step aside action already happened.

Also didn't help that Cotto was mouthing off about the amount with a confidentiality clause

            Wtf

            He made 20 mil doe.

20 mil minus 800000 equals 19 mill 200000. Cottos no dummy. It's called smart investing.

The belt gave him leverage to negotiate a higher split. He still made more money from holding on to it.

You do know that Pac isn't an 8 divison "world champion" fact. 6 is the number you're looking for!
