McGregor made $3 million against Mendes and over $3.5 million for last night. Flat purse doesn't really matter, he gets cuts of the PPV and other things.
He's broke every UFC record, he's making more money than any fighter in the company's history....he'll never do Mayweather/Pac numbers, but they are going to be huge.

I don't see it. Floyd built himself up as a great villain ever since the ODL fight and people tuned in to see him lose. Pacquiao benefited by having an incredible 2-3 year run when people though he was the guy to take Floyd's 0.
UFC is so volatile this guy is one punch or leg kick away from taking a loss before he builds himself up to that level. Records don't matter as much in that sport but in order to build a fighter up to that level and get the casual audience invested he would have to win over a long period of time, which the sport isn't set up to have happen. UFC already peaked with Lesner and the numbers he was doing. Since then its been a slow decline with some occasional highs with a side show like Roussey.Comment

Welp, that dominant ko just destroyed boxing to casuals, now pacquiaos ppv is going to do 75 k buys, casuals will be reminded about the money they wasted on may pac because mcgregor is reminding them, plus his ko made them buy into the hype, mcgrgeor was huge compared to aldo, plus his main weakness are wrestlers, mendes was tossing him around, imagine mcgregor at 155? Against men his size or bigger? Would love to see him against pettis.Comment

I was watching this pre-fight hype show last night and McGregor admitted he spends way too much money and others have advised him to put some away for the future. He said well, "As long as what comes in the door swallows what is going out of the door, it doesn't matter." Dude was driving this crazy BMW with butterfly doors....I have to admit, that car was pretty impressive.

His view was that he earned $3million+ for the fight and spent 10% of it on cars, well within his means. I'm assuming he knows you can't live a Mayweather lifestyle on less than 10% of the income.
Saying that though, they are expecting him to sign a monster contract when he renews his deal with UFC that will see him earn crazy money that dwarfs what anyone in UFC history has made.Comment

He will never see the type of Money Floyd or Pac made. The UFC Business model is never gonna pay a fighter $300 million for one fight. He brags about the gate and pay per view but doesn't see a portion of either. I like him but he's delusional as ****.Comment

People act like MMA isn't like boxing..same BS..you don't get the fights you want to see: GSP-Diaz when we wanted it happened too late; Cyborg and Ronda: never happened;...
The UFC represents the most competitive combat sports entity right now. Its not even competitive between the UFC & anyone else. And this **** happens monthly more or less (maybe not top 2 x 2, but top 5 guys are always fighting, top 10 guys are always fighting, competitive fights are always happening). I'd be hard pressed to name any boxer outside of maybe 2 or 3 tip top of the elite in this era who's fought top 5 level competition fight after fight like is demanded in the UFC.Comment
