Just by reading the comments it's obvious there are a lot of people in here who have no idea about Pernell Whitaker, his career, his opponents, or the timing in which he fought them. Rafael Pineda for example was considered a very dangerous opponent at 140.

It's irritating watching people pretend they know what they're talking about.

You're telling me McGirt a great opponent? Seriously? No.

Church at the last sentence. How do you mention greatest southpaws and overlook the greatest of the modern era?

I'm happy this is a public poll. I've got a few more posters I know to never take seriously.

so why'd you mention mcgirt? I said I'm only mentioning Pac and Haglers UNANIMOUSLY regarded great opponents, which is why I skipped on Hatton for example or Margarito.

You still haven't given any legitimate reason as to why Whitaker should be ranked above either guy. Resume doesn't cut it with Pac, but if that's your only criteria then fine. I listed my reasons, you should try to list yours.

You act like people picking Pacquiao or Hagler but it's mainly Pacquiao that hurts your feelings, above Whitaker is a bad thing. It's not. All 3 were southpaw, Pacquiao and Whitaker more so and all three had tremendous careers, some of the greatest runs ever but in the opinions of some, Hagler or Pac may be ranked higher.

That doesn't mean Whitaker was bad, it just means he wasn't as good as the others in the opinions of some. It's not personal.

You mentioned Ledwaba, is he great? You're a riot.

I never listed him as one of Pac's best wins, if you read the brackets, I said I could have but I'm restricting it strictly to great fighters but that Pacquiao does have a deep resume beyond simply the elite.

It's not that difficult to understand, here, let me help you:

"(That's not to mention Bradley and where he may end up in the future or guys like Ledwabo or Hatton)"

Do you understand what that means?

I just realised there's no point in discussing boxing with you as your only a fan of a certain somebody. I should have realised earlier.
