I can't help but wonder what Madison Square Garden is thinking about Lou DiBella right now?

Jacobs vs. Quillin "was an excellent matchup on paper and it did good business." Dibella said
I couldn't stop laughing when I read this. From a business standpoint last weekends card was a disaster. First they filled less then half of the arena they were in with a disappointing live gate of only 8k fans showing up with local brooklyn fighters in the headliner no less. Now we have official viewership numbers from showtime where the entire card avg only 248K viewers. Showtime paid Jacobs and Quillin each 1.5mil for this trainwreck and got no return on that investment.
I seriously question Jacobs fanbase especially in NY. Couldn't even come close to selling out in his backyard. If he fights Lee they have to put during St Patrick's Day and hope Lee carries the fans because Jacobs sure can't. If he can't even generate strong fans in Brooklyn might as well put this in Boston and go all out on the Irish angle.

Jacobs will blow threw Lee in no more than 5 rounds. Then all you guys will do is make excuses thereafter

Danny did to Peter what he did to Lorenzo, he swings mad. Against Lee that'll get him killed. Lee is a bad match-up for Jacobs mark my words. Unfortunately I don't think Andy will win vs Saunders.

I'm generally not a conspiracy theory type, but this sounds like what Haymon wants. This fight makes absolutely no sense for Andy, and would be an absolutely horrible move by his promoter. Should he beat Saunders he is all but locked in for a fight with GGG or possibly Canelo. Depending on how their situation plays out. Lee has fought Korobov, Quillen and now BJS in his last three fights. Why the **** would he fight Jacobs with two potential huge paydays looming? The guy could fight a soft touch in Ireland waiting for those fights and probably make close to the same amount of money as fighting Jacobs.
Given Andy's own words. I'll be absolutely floored if this fight happens. There is nothing in it for Andy.

Seriously, if GGG beat Quillin (who was too scared to even fight GGG) and Lee, you guys would denigrate those two fighters as tin cans.

And Jacob's solid punch and smart follow up doesn't erase his negatives. Can he beat GGG, I doubt it, I doubt he'd even fight GGG, that's how it goes for the MW, he is just too good.
Jacob will say he'll fight GGG, all the while hiding behind the Showtime thing--although he isn't signed to Showtime and if really wanted GGG it would be easy to make.Last edited by Progrssive_Jedi; 12-10-2015, 09:10 PM.

Haymon paid Lee $1mill to fight Quillin and even paid Saunders six-figures to step aside. I imagine he'd offer Lee $1.5mill or more to fight Jacobs in order to secure a MW title for the PBC. I wouldn't doubt Andy tries to get Golovkin/HBO and Jacobs/Haymon into a bidding war.
Golovkin/HBO might not be able to match Haymon, but they'll be willing to fight in the UK and get SKY revenue into the pot. In fact fighting prime-time in Europe brings in more tv revenue from Germany & Russia as well.
