Great freaking post! Your a true fan, not just a Floyd fan but a fan of boxing! You see what I see! It's the little things that you don't see from most or any other boxer. Ilove blood and guts and a good brawl too. But its little things like how he can turn and angle his head to make a fighter barely miss! It's crazy! A fan doesn't see that. You have to B a student of the sport!

LMAO Floyd came out of retirement not Marquez! And Barrera and Morales were not prime they were at the end of their career! Marquez arguably beat Pac at least twice before the KO! Now what prime Welters did Pac beat? Not at 144, not at 145 but at 147lbs. I tell you one thing it wasn't Floyd because Floyd got Pac on his resume! LMAOComment

I don't think Oscar/GBP was the owner then. Maybe. Even if they were, I have no issue with Pacquiao being Fighter of the Decade although a strong case can be made for Mayweather certainly. But their careers didn't begin or end in that one decade so you look at their complete body of work. Yes, Pacquiao edged Mayweather during that span. Not by much. Overall though, Mayweather has the better resume and will go down as the greater fighter. Already has.
Classic dirty politics. As time passes and new generation fans lurk into boxing they will all watch the tapes forever on YouTube and see Floyds mastery va Pac hitting the canvas gracefully 3 times by KO. Smiling sighComment

Your a fool to believe Mayweather was any bigger in popularity than ANY of his top selling fights opponents. His opponents are what made his fights and Oscar made Jr.
You think people weren't watching the lower weight classes prior to Jr? The only reason there was MORE attention these days is because the heavyweight division blows. There was plenty of attention on them in the past if you by the history of the sport, and the mere fact that there is practically no heavyweight division anymore is why people turned their wallets towards lower weight class PPVs and focused on the fighters down below.Comment

But with regard to your first paragraph, Mayweather was definitely one of the biggest name opponents Oscar had fought to that point. Chavez and Pea were bigger, yes. Trinidad was probably bigger and then it's Floyd, who was on the verge of blowing up and had already established himself as a fighter capable of pulling around 400K in PPV with a decent name. More important, he sold his fight against Oscar more than anyone else did, over 1m more PPV's than the Manny fight.Comment

It's silly to try to pin down someone's resume on one thing. What elite prime HOF fighter did Julio Cesar Chavez beat? Vernon Forrest beat a HOF'er in Mosley while he was at his peak. Is he an all-time great? Better than Floyd?
Second, Morales wasn't in his prime when Pacquiao fought him and it's arguable Pacquiao ever beat Marquez. But I'm not downplaying them, just pointing out a flaw in the argument. Those are great wins and performances for Pacquiao (except the Morales rematches). A fighter is judged by his full body of work.Comment

95% of the guys were coming off their best performances blah ha ha ha
Hatton was exposed by Collazo
Mitchell had recently been destroyed by Tysu
Judah lost to that bum Baldimor
Baldimor was a bum
Delahoya was long past his best so him beating Mayorga and Stevie Forbes qualifies as hist best performance lmao
Gurrero don't even get me started
Maidana lmao yeah that was a credible fight when everyone voted for a khan fight !
And Berto what great performance did he come off of ? Berto was a bum as well
Are you trying to make these guys better than they were just because Floyd fought them is that it ?
Take Maidana, I like Chino but hey he got soundly beat by Alexander, a guy who lost every time he stepped up in class. So when Chino gives FM a tough fight, its not "hey maybe FM is overrated", it's "who knew Chino was an elite fighter"lolComment
