Almost 100% of the people here saying he changed it for the worse didn't watch boxing before he got big. Boxing wouldn't be talked about on ESPN or be on broadcast television if it wasn't for the guy, but he can't get credit for it. The hate is strong in yall.

He lowered it several notches in the eyes of the public and gave MMA a huge opening to get popular. That's about it.
But he dominated a sort of vacuum. Those US boxing fans who did remain really had no one else to watch anymore given the European & Latin American takeover of the sport.
They had 1 guy basically, and he got lotsa attention/$$$ no matter how dreary he was.Last edited by ////; 12-10-2015, 09:35 AM.

This is the difference between Floyd and these other fighters. One little quote and people are ready to go to blows. He is transcending. They want to criticize his every move yet you fail to hold other fighters to the same standard.
You defend GGG to the death for failing to move up, yet you expect Floyd at 38 to move up 2 divisions and challenge him. For years people supported Manny fighting at catch weights, yet when Floyd fights at catch weight it's the end all be all. People will change positions, no matter how rediculous they look, to try and shame this man.

None of that crap you say will change what he has accomplished. He didn't get caught with a banned substance or fail a test so please stop reaching. He ducked and got paid??? LOL titles in 5 weight classes and 4 lineal say other wise......Go talk to the 11 former current lineal champions he has beat and the over 20 major titlists in total

Floyd 2nd half was a joke. Fought all of the big names past prime, blown up, or weight drained...and berto as a farewell fight?
