Yes floyd you did change it. Unquestionably for the worse. He literally set the stage for the up and coming young divas like Canelo.

I mean DLH definitely had his diva attributes but at least he fought damn near everyone. Its crazy how Floyd got that mainstream attention by fighting Oscar and then taking the diva **** to a new level.
One could say that SRL was the first diva, always tilting things in his favour, but again at least he fought everyone.

Yeah, for the worse. Now there's a lot fewer big fights following Floyd's ducking guys in their prime business model.

I'm A Floyd fan and all but I would have to disagree with Floyd on this. Taking ALL the credit for the lower weight classes getting exposure is a little bit extreme.

I have seen so many great fighters in my life and I have been lucky enough to meet a number of my boxing idols. In terms of Mayweather, I met him long before he became the greatest defensive fighter of his generation and then I met him again when he was HBOs rising star. On both occasions he was courteous and accommodating, at odds with his "larger than life" tv persona, then again, people do change.
However, at no stage have I thought of this young man as a revolutionary, or a fighter who influenced the sport as other icons had done. Mayweather is not the icon that Robinson was, that Ali became and the stature of Tyson which endures to this day. He does not even fall into the second category with Leonard or Duran.
Too much of Mayweather's career was hidden behind a pay wall, unattainable to the masses. For too long he indulged in fighting good fighters rather than great ones and when he did fight them, he didn't deliver great fights or iconic, destruct performances. Not much of Mayweather the boxer lives long in the memory, however, Mayweather the cartoonish villain may still have some legs.

Oscar changed the game by leaving Arum and then becoming a top promoter! Floyd took the game to a whole different level by becoming the highest paid athlete EVER! Gatti, De La Hoya, Marquez, Mosley, Cotto, Canelo, and Pacquiao, all EASY WORK! Good Luck Champ!
