The REAL reason people pick Golovkin over Canelo

How can GGG's fan who shout about excitement insult Canelo? Dude is easily one of the nicest boxers to watch in the sport, while GGG is literally like watching Paint dry compared to him... I get how you can be angry about the catch weight for 5 mins but jesus grab your sack and get over it

To pick Canelo over Golovkin would mean indirectly picking Floyd (who beat Canelo) over Golovkin, and that is unacceptable and unthinkable to these people who view Golovkin as the last hope, the only one who was never tainted by Floyd.
Realistically, Canelo vs Golovkin could go either way, and in another year or two Canelo should even have the advantage. By destroying Geale, Cotto proved how weak Golovkin's opponents have been, and Canelo ate Cotto's shots like candy.
The truth is the truth!
It's a great matchup, at face value GGG looks a little better as a technical boxer, but Canelo has better hand speed and movement. GGG looks to have more power, but I don't think it's by much.
If that was the end of it, I'd pick GGG, but the big question mark is quality of opposition, GGG has fought exclusively tomato cans. He has been in with no one who would challenge his chin at all. Canelo has fought much much better competition and he ate Cotto's punches without blinking and Cotto can hit hard. So I think Canelo beats GGG by KO, but it wouldn't suprise me if GGG won by KO either.
But back to the point. There is most definitely a portion of this message board who hate Floyd so much their entire boxing fandom is predicted on being anti Floyd, to them if Canelo beats GGG it's bad because it will legitimize Floyd even more, some of those same people rooted for the new and improved Freddy Roach trained Cotto against Canelo for this very reason.
If Canelo has a 10 year run as the best in the world, boy, that Floyd victory over him will look better and better.

I would pick GGG because of the power he brings to the table at 160. I think Canelo will put up a decent fight, but he is just out gunned here, I dont think he has the power to hold off GGG.

And this right here is what it all boils down to. Floyd fans drinking that fool-aid are absolutely terrified about what it means to floyds legacy if Golovkin ghouls a guy who Floyd drained at a catchweight and still only won a majority decision

Floyd fans do not worry about "he beat him better". that's something that Manny fans invented when arguing that Manny was better than Floyd-he beat ODH, Shane and Hatton "better", since Floyd beat them first.
Most of the idiots that espoused that logic jumped off the Manny bandwagon on May 2nd and got on the GGG train.
Nothing is going to ruin Floyd's legacy. If GGG KO's Canelo, it doesn't in any way affect Floyd's legacy. There will however be a bunch of ******ed NSB clowns who will go back to their "he beat him better" mantra.
