Budget and viewership are not the same thing. They brought in Herschman because he had done well with a small budget at SHowtime

That makes sense. Or he could make a deal for a Canelo fight. It's better for dibella and his fighters money wise to pursue either of these fights rather than a GGG fight, especially given HBO has reduced its budget.

Best positive is Lee getting a lot of money since Showtime willing to shell out money to save their asses and danny can't command a huge purse advantage over him... so it'd be near even. Plus if he has the belt and Jacobs fights him, he'll go in as the challenger.

oh, I agree 100%. Canelo gets his choice of opponents given how much he can give them. If GBP calls for Lee, then its Lee/Canelo. Otherwise IMO its Lee/Jacobs.

No, everyone says that. It's been holding at $30mill for over a few years now, I haven't seen any reports of it being dropped from that.

Golovkin would have the same issues fighting Lara as he would fighting Jacobs. If he could fight Lara, then there'd be no reason not to fight Jacobs asap.

Jacobs is talking about needing the right amount of money. Lara isn't. He's calling him. Danny isn't.

If I was Golovkin, I would get my promoter to have a sit down with HBO brass. I would make damn sure that if a situation like a purse bid came up, that I would have their permission to have a fight somewhere else if deemed necessary to achieve my coal of being undisputed champion.

It is great that HBO supports fighters. Not so great if it holds a fighter back from making fights that not only the public wants to see, but also the potential to carry their career forward.

It was recently reported by Steve Kim, that Loeffler said Lara's team has never called them but that they're free too. Loeffler has stated they'll be contacting Jacobs if Alvarez and Lee/Saunders fall out.
