I could see him going for Lee/Jacobs for St Paddy, of course he'd have to vacate his regular title since the WBO don't recognize the WBA regular as a real title

Lose the weight and fight Canelo or get in there with Lara. Idk what else for Golovkin to do. Ward is moving up to meet Sergey soon, Jacobs is gonna fight Lee most likely next.

And what is showtime? They been around over 30 years almost as long as HBO been covering boxing. Back to the days of Chavez and holyfield and Tyson when he came out of jail in the 90s. And no not all HBO fighters pull in the viewers that GGG does. Prime example is rigo who basically got booted off HBO while he was with top rank because his ratings stunk. And up until a year ago when golden boy was promoting the fights on showtime numerous fights pulled in 1mil ratings.

People trying too hard to make excuses for jacobs being a bomb in TV ratings and in live attendance. It's really simple jacobs or quillin are not as popular as GGG and since golden boy left and haymon is promoting alone there has been a dip in ratings. So you have the negatitivy because of haymon and combination of jacobs having fought nobodies and owning a paper belt not seen as the true champ, and quillins stock falling the last few years because he vacated his belt in cowardly manner, missed weight for his comeback championship fight, looked bad in the Lee fight getting dropped, and ducked GGG for almost 5 years.

These are the reasons few wanted to go to the fight and few watched the fight on tv. Not ticket sales and not because it was on showtime. LMAO Early this year the last golden boy fight did over 1mil in ratings for ahowtime. And broner a few months before jacobs did basically double the ratings. Jacobs is just not a draw even in his own city.

Second, I don't see Peter Nelson allowing Golovkin to be stripped of any of his titles. Listening to an hour long podcast interview with Nelson, he's very committed to Golovkin establishing a Hopkins/Hagler type legacy. It looks like Golovkin's last contractual fight with HBO is his next in February/March vs Johnson. After that I imagine they'll adjust so that if Golovkin loses a purse bid, Haymon can pay him to destroy Jacobs on one of his networks.
That's good to know. Any news on Kovalev?

Worse case, GGG will run over Tureano and Heiland consecutively. Ideally, we get GGG/Tureano and Jacobs/Eubanks asap. Canelo should face Lee/BJS or Heiland next.

It's HBO who approves & deny fighters. So ultimately it is up to them.

HBO approved Quillin/Korobov and Stieverne/Ortiz, Haymon was the one to deny them.

He just signed a new deal with them starting with the Mohammedi fight. Didn't see any details reported though.
