Ir0nfist hates Floyd, I get that. But he's run through just about every excuse there is. I'm hopeful at some point he lets the bitterness go and just admit that Floyd being better than Manny is the primary reason why he had an easier time with JMM than Manny did.

You seem to have a hard time understanding the common boxing maxim "styles make fights", it should also be noted that counter punchers tend to have a longer shelf life, so your attempt to contribute age as a factor is sadly misplaced.

Once again, the Marquez that Pacquiao faced was superior to the one Floyd fought in EVERY aspect. Only Floyd's most serious nuthuggers would think otherwise.

Floyd is more superior to JMM than Manny is. Why is it so hard for you to admit this?

That's actually the point I've been trying to make this entire time. Reading comprehension clearly isn't your strong suit.

If you truly believe "styles make fights" then you would have known Manny would never have beaten Floyd. Since Manny has never performed well against counter punchers.

Also the JMM who fought Manny was not superior in every way to the one who fought Floyd. We've seen JMM get progressively worse as the years have gone on. He does seem to hit harder but he certainly doesn't have the reflexes he used to.

Then just write it and be done with it. You are worming your way around it. Manny isn't much better than JMM while Floyd is superior to both.

One of the great KOs in boxing, across all eras. It was a great fight too, I don't hear it mentioned much but what a brutal, skilled and heartfelt affair.

Obviously, the circumstances surrounding the fight weren't ideal and Marquez came in looking like a jacked 25 year old, which a lot of people try and deny.

Just because two boxers are counter punchers doesn't necessarily mean they share the same style. Have you ever seen Marquez utilize the shoulder roll? No. Furthermore, with age comes experience and Marquez went on a 3 fight winning streak after losing to Floyd, his only losses in recent years were to elite level guys like Pacquiao and Bradley. Whatever decline you see in his game has very little impact on his ability to perform.

They don't have exactly the same style but they share many of the same fundamentals. Including fighting off the back foot and shooting when your opponent leaves his guard open. There was a reason why Floyd was the favorite in this fight. With age comes experience but with age you also lose mobility and reflexes. If Marquez was able to win three fights after losing to Floyd how is the version that beat Pacquiao superior to the version that Floyd beat? Since beating Pacquiao Marquez lost to Bradley and got knocked on his ass by Mike Alvarado! Since then he has been inactive with injuries.
