On a serious note, one of - if not - the most exciting fight of this decade. A storybook ending to a rivalry that will forever be immortalized in boxing history. Witnessing a bloodied and battered JMM on the verge of getting stopped snatch victory away from Pacquiao with one fell swoop was truly amazing from an impartial perspective.

These two warriors made us remember why we love this sport so much. Both guys entered the ring with absolutely zero intentions of dancing or hugging one another. Not a single clinch or foul was executed, no underhanded tactics, just boxing in its purest form at the highest level on full display.
We know Floyd didn't KO Manny. But it was funny to see Manny brutally KO'd by a man Floyd dominated three years prior.

Floyd made JMM balloon up 3 weight classes and still cheated him on the scales. Not to mention that JMM didn't have a proper S&C routine and was drinking urine and throwing rocks around to prepare for the fight, but that's neither here nor there. Boxing is a clash of styles. This is why Floyd looked anything but dominant against Pacquiao when they fought.

Crazy night that was, was around 5am here in UK. I almost missed the KO as my dad wanted me to sort the treadmill out for him, me and him nearly went at it for that!

As much as i get yeah its a fitting ending, Marquez was a ***** for not giving him the opportunity. Love Marquez but he should have gave him a chance like Pacquiao gave him.

Three weight classes? Your math is off. Marquez jumped one weight class and a half. He went from 135 to 142 and Floyd weighed 146. To put that into perspective. Marquez weighed only 143 on the fourth fight with Pacquiao and Manny weighed 147, one pound heaver than Floyd was. And Marquez STILL ko'd Manny despite being older and still at a weight disadvantage.

I thought Marquez would take it by decision this time. Boy was I... right????

Great fight on the night but killed the Pac - Floyd matchup and anticipation for me.

What a fight. I can't believe three years has passed since then.

Manny had been on an incredible run in those few years before that and ultimately wound up being cut down himself. Ironically, Manny looked as good as we had seen him leading up to that last shot. Great stuff. Like the saying goes you live by the sword, you must die by it. This loss perfectly sums that up for Manny and his style of fighting particularly when you consider how he defeated Hatton.

Both fighters down, both stunned at one point and/or badly hurt at others. Both having shared success in every round...HUGE K.O win for an underdog...Great night for boxing. I am a Manny fan and wanted him to win obviously, but there is no discrediting that win for JMM.*

*Edit - That was no lucky shot from Marquez either. He did a great job of staying calm under a brutal onslaught and managed to exploit a weakness in Manny's step fake that he does before the 1,2 a lot of the time. It wasn't luck, it was a great shot.

An unbelievable night of boxing history.

I remember the bitterness from the fake Pacquiao fans (the ones who really just hate Floyd) and the familiar stages of depression from the real Pac fans. We've all been there.

If any fighter deserved this moment, it was Marquez. Always playing third or fourth fiddle to Pacquiao, Morales & Barrera and it looked as if he might never have that signature win. Was happy to see him stamp himself as a true ATG.

I also think that Pacquiao's re-emergence following that defeat is underrated. The Algieri domination & the underrated Bradley rematch win. I'm one of the few who had Bradley winning the first fight (could have gone either way but was very close IMO) and to see Manny rebound like that at that stage of his career was impressive. A true champion can bounce back from a loss, right? Well he did.
