I don't understand why Russell would be fighting the loser of mares v Santa Cruz. Yes he needs to enhance his resume but he should be fighting LSC.

Haymon has a ton of good fighters he advises at the lower weights but doesn't allow the promoters to make the best fights. I guess he's waiting until he gets a deal but its very frustrating not getting the best fights.

Depends! If Russell looks better against Mares than Leo did could lead to a bigger payday for both! If not? Then Mares/Leo rematch will be in order.

I have not decided as of yet but if Mares comes really conditioned and can bring effective pressure for 12, I got him by decision if not, he losses.
