I don't understand why Russell would be fighting the loser of mares v Santa Cruz. Yes he needs to enhance his resume but he should be fighting LSC.

Haymon has a ton of good fighters he advises at the lower weights but doesn't allow the promoters to make the best fights. I guess he's waiting until he gets a deal but its very frustrating not getting the best fights.

Mares dont deserve the title shot but Haymon will cash him out. Losing to Santa Cruz or even beating Santa Cruz doesnt prepare you for a guy like Russel. I wouldnt be surprised if Mares got knocked out by Russel at this point. But if this fight were to happen, LSC needs to take advantage and get active in the meantime with some boxers with hand speed.

Im with you on this one. People ripping Mares for his decision. Not the point people, Mares wants the challenge and the title. This is how a fighter earns respect and fans. Get on the bandwagon, we need many more like Mares!!
