Would he have gotten the push he did? I was thinking about the amount of love mayweather got in russia, and wondered if that translated to pacs marketability in the usa...being that he's a foreign fighter. But on the flip side, with there being so many american athletes/sports to choose from, would he have even gotten the support here to become a superstar if he was just another american fighter. It's a given that all the filipinos are going to support him cuz they have nothing else to be proud of.

It does bring up questions with some of his current supporters who are obvious overly critical of American fighters and some even despise American fighters... Personally it changes nothing but his backstory. Someone winning championships in 8 weightclasses would make waves in the sporting world!

Not at all, his career would've taken a much worse hit than it did after the losses he suffered in his career and he would've been called a hypejob, American fans don't stand behind their fighters after they lose and that's why most American fighters are very careful when it comes to matchmaking, one loss and you're doomed a hypejob forever. Look at Canelo, he was in his prime and still lost every round against a smaller 36 year old, yet his fans still love him and support him, I can't remember any similar scenario in recent memory with an American fighter, all I hear about American fighters is duck duck duck, hype hype hype.Last edited by Dip_Slide; 12-08-2015, 12:58 AM.

PAC would be a bigger draw at a younger age.
PAC has a pleasing style and warrior mentality that has always been popular.
He really took control of his career by fighting big fight after big fight that Arum lined up for him.
