As I told another poster, facts don't matter here. People tell blatant lies to support the guys they like. If you don't agree, expect red k, bring called a *****/stan/whatever, and to be actively followed and trolled lolComment

Thanks for the link to that thread man. Glad I read it with the articles. Pathetic as heck to see even with the facts laid out that people will not let go of their biasComment

One fact that cannot be disputed is that Wilder chose to fight Duphas over Povetkin. One can make the argument that he was within his rights to do that.
But one can imagine the hate that would be thrown towards other champions if they chose a soft touch over their mandatory challenger (whether due or not)Last edited by OnePunch; 12-07-2015, 07:57 PM.Comment

Povetkin chose to fight Wach in November. People are actually acting like that fight was just thrown together? It was a planned card in Russia. One fact that cannot be disputed is that Wilder chose to fight Duphas over Povetkin. One can make the argument that he was within his rights to do that.

Im talking right after Poevtkin beat Perez. At first he said he was going to just wait for the Wilder fight. But after Wilder indicated he was going to do a voluntary instead (Duphas), thats when Poevtkin opted to do the Wach fight.
Now Im not saying Poevtkin wouldnt have come up with another excuse had Wilder tried to do the fight back then. He might have. I dont know. But had Wilder said yes to Poevtkin back then, we would at least know the answer to that question.Comment

I'm pretty sure that fight card they did in Russia was planned well in advance with Povetkin as the headliner. In fact, Suliman of the WBC confirmed that it was.Im talking right after Poevtkin beat Perez. At first he said he was going to just wait for the Wilder fight. That's not something that was just thrown together in reaction to Wilder fighting a voluntary.Comment

I dont know for sure, I just remember Povetkin waiting a month until Wilder beat Molina, and then Wilder said he wanted another voluntary. That was in June.
Id have to go back and try looking it up, but to be honest its not that big a deal lolComment

Mauricio Suliman said that Povetkin's manager told the WBC they'd be doing a big card in Russia in November with Povetkin defending his Silver Title. So Wilder was free to have a voluntary.
Like you said, it doesn't really matter because the fight has to happen eventually and then we'll see what's what.Comment
