Wilder should not be criticized for staying active and squeezing in two voluntaries BEFORE OCTOBER.

Wilder was ready, willing and able to comply with the WBC order to negotiate in October to fight Povetkin.

Povetkin is the one that defied the order and scheduled a fighter AFTER OCTOBER.

Worse, when Wilder offered to fight in January 2016, which is when the mandatory was due, Povetkin refused.

Those are the facts. Stop being a sucker for anti-Haymon propaganda.
Everyone knows this but are just against Wilder/Haymon/PBC. Take your pick. Povetkin backed out and let it be known he was backing out but Wilder is to blame

So we should believe this anonymous poster of yours and you instead of the facts laid out before us by the wbc president?

You know, the fact that the one who asked for an extention until april/may was Povetkin and not Wilder.

Or the FACT that Wilder is the one who fought his voluntaries BEFORE the original negotiation date set out by the wbc whereas Povetkin is the one who chose to fight his tune up AFTER said October date, thereby forcing the wbc to postpone negotiations.

But no, some anonymous poster on boxing scene is far more credible then the wbc president huh?

                gtfoh!

                clown!

Povetkin wanted to fight Wilder right away coz he knew there was no way Wilder could have fully recovered from the hand operation he had to undergo after the Stirvirne fight (he broke his hand in that fight and had an operation that was supposed to rule him out for at least six months afterwards, it was well publicized but people round here be pretendin they don't know).

According to Wilder, his right hand was round bout 60 percent in the Molina fight and 95 percent in the dehapaus fight. The fight against Molina is absolute proof that he is telling the truth, Wilder barely used his right hand in that match and in fact didn't even pull the trigger until the fourth round, and even then, he was very hesitant to go gungho with it like he usually does. Watched the fight with my friend (casual fan) and my mom (casual fan) and they both asked me why the tall black guy was only using his left hand.

In the Dehaupas fight you saw his hand was in far better condition cause he threw it like nobodies business. Probably the reason they chose a guy who aint never been knocked down before was pricely for that reason, to give wilder a chance to prove to himself and his corner that the worst is behind with regards to that right hand.

Povetkin wanted to fight Wilder early cause he was hoping to take advantage of that injury, but as soon as he realised that Wilder and team were gonna wait for the negotiation date set out by the wbc, Povetkin sabotaged negotiations by fighting in Novemeber and then further asking for a six month extention.

Ask yourself this, if Povetkin really wanted Wilder, and has been preparing for him all this time, then why the stalling, sabotaging, and asking for extentions? And why is he silent now that the champ's hand has fully recovered?

                    Here are the facts:

Povetkin wins a final eliminator at the end of May to become the next WBC mandatory. A mandatory defense had already been made the same year. Wilder was the mandatory challenger and won the title.

In June, the WBC announces that negotiations for the next mandatory defense will commence in October. So, the champion schedules a voluntary defense BEFORE OCTOBER.

The champion was in full compliance and ready to begin negotiations in October for a mandatory fight that would most likely take place in January, one year after the previous mandatory fight (heavyweight mandatories are due once a year).

The challenger then schedules a fight for AFTER OCTOBER and ignores the WBC order for the mandatory fight and after ignoring the mandated negotiation window, the challenger claims they are unable to face the champion in January, which would be a year after the previous mandatory fight.

These are indisputable facts. Wilder has done absolutely everything in accordance to the rules. To suggest that he is ducking his mandatory is absolutely ludicrous. The timeline is very clear:

                    MAY - NEW MANDATORY ESTABLISHED.
JUNE - NEGOTIATIONS ORDERED FOR OCTOBER.
SEPTEMBER - CHAMPION FIGHTS VOLUNTARY BEFORE OCTOBER NEGOTIATIONS.
NOVEMBER - CHALLENGER FIGHTS ***AFTER*** ORDERED NEGOTIATIONS.

Hilarious how the Haymon haters will defy all fact, logic and reason to cling to their bizarre alternate realities.
If this is indeed the timeline and what happened then the blame isn't on Wilder. But it's Wilder with Haymon, so even with facts people won't care.

If anyone can come to the conclusion that Wilder is ducking Povetkin after reading that they should be put on ignore.
