There was plaenty of time to make the Povetkin fight but wilder and his team do not want to risk losing before he gets the bigger payday with Fury or wlad.
The facts and dates back up Wilder's claim. Povetkin is pushing the fight off. How much clearer can i be when they were told in June that negotiation would start in October and the fight to be held in January. And what did Povetkin do? Schedule a fight for November and the day of the fight, before the fight, they told the WBC they won't be ready in January.

Povetkin told the WBC he wasn't ready.

He has a history of not being ready.

No. Povetkin announced his fight with Wach before Wilder announced his fight with Duhaupas. The WBC informed Povetkin and Wilder that negotiations were to start in October and the fight to be held in January. On the day of the fight Povetkin told the WBC he wouldn't be ready for Wilder in January. He'll be ready in April or May. That's when the WBC granted Wilder another voluntary to take place when the Wilder/Povetkin fight was supposed to happen.

They both announced Wach and Duhplas at the beginning of August. Povetkin waited till November to face Wach , while Wilder set a date for Duhplas for the start of Sept.

Povetkin waited all of 6 weeks before saying - *** it , im fighting somebody else thats going to keep me out of the ring for the best part of a whole year.

Everything Wlider said is 100% correct.

Does this guy think we have the memory of goldfish?? "Im always ready" don't forget Mr Wilder that you put Povetkin on the sidelines twice so you could have tune-ups. And then the second he signs a stay busy fight because of your delays you claim he's the one running scared and needing more time. You really are spineless scum.

                Here are the facts:

Povetkin wins a final eliminator at the end of May to become the next WBC mandatory. A mandatory defense had already been made the same year. Wilder was the mandatory challenger and won the title.

In June, the WBC announces that negotiations for the next mandatory defense will commence in October. So, the champion schedules a voluntary defense BEFORE OCTOBER.

The champion was in full compliance and ready to begin negotiations in October for a mandatory fight that would most likely take place in January, one year after the previous mandatory fight (heavyweight mandatories are due once a year).

The challenger then schedules a fight for AFTER OCTOBER and ignores the WBC order for the mandatory fight and after ignoring the mandated negotiation window, the challenger claims they are unable to face the champion in January, which would be a year after the previous mandatory fight.

These are indisputable facts. Wilder has done absolutely everything in accordance to the rules. To suggest that he is ducking his mandatory is absolutely ludicrous. The timeline is very clear:

                MAY - NEW MANDATORY ESTABLISHED.
JUNE - NEGOTIATIONS ORDERED FOR OCTOBER.
SEPTEMBER - CHAMPION FIGHTS VOLUNTARY BEFORE OCTOBER NEGOTIATIONS.
NOVEMBER - CHALLENGER FIGHTS ***AFTER*** ORDERED NEGOTIATIONS.

Hilarious how the Haymon haters will defy all fact, logic and reason to cling to their bizarre alternate realities.
It's shows the media bias. They create the narrative that Wilder is ducking Povetkin an most fans believe it. I'm just a fight fan on the internet and I was able to bet together a timeline of what went down and how it happened

Those in the media actually talk to these guys and they know they aren't representing the truth. So if a media member will blatantly lie you have to ask yourself what is their agenda? Who's paying them?

We all know you applied for a mandatory defense even though Povetkin was next. He wanted to fight you last year in september already!

                  Frigging protected liar.

As long as it happens next. If it doesn't, whoever is to blame deserves to be criticized.
