  • Comments Thread For: DeGale: I'd Face Golovkin at 168, Confident I'd Win

IBF super middleweight champion James DeGale (22-1, 14KOs) is very willing to face Gennady Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs), if the IBF/IBO/WBA middleweight champion decides to move up in weight.

DeGale, an Olympic gold medal winner, had a banner year in 2015 with capturing his world title and gaining victories over Andre Dirrell and Lucian Bute.

I don't think he ever said 160. He said a catchweight.

We all know Little Baby G is very sensitive about who he fights at the full 168 limit so DeGale is just trying to accommodate the poor soul.

I hope it happens. Degale has grown on me recently and shows a very high ring IQ. He would be a tough fight for anyone, GGG, Ward or Kovalev.

You'll have to fight him at 164.

Oh wait that's only for Andre Ward. My fault, never mind.

Degale is an elite fighter with a remarkable amateur pedigree, it was a matter of time we saw him at this stage, his skill level is up there with the best of the world, the reason why he'll fight GGG is cuz when you have so many tools in your arsenal you don't care too much whom you face cuz your ability will prevail. This is why so many Cubans guys don't give a f.ck whom they fight.

However, for now I'd like James to focus on Jack, so he can not only show Groves how its done, but get that pretty green belt to add to his collection.
