So f#cking this. I think the ref f#cked up a bit here with w/e he was doing previous to stopping it. I can only assume he was about to call a KD or do a S8C cuz if he was stopping the fight he was doing it wrong & then he does just seem to stop it. Maybe he asked Quillin what state he was in & the dude said Narnia idk, but I think based on what I saw I wanna see the ref let things go on. I personally don't wanna see fights end via the refs hands under these sorta circumstances & I think a great many fights that everyone knows & loves woulda never been as great if decisions like the one last night were made in them.

Quillin took like 20 unanswered punches. I don't know how this stoppage is controversial.

It was absolutely a good stoppage, it could've even been stopped earlier. Quillin was clearly out and defenceless.

He was about to call a KD that's why he sent Jacobs to the neutral corner. He messed that up but the stoppage was correct. It surprised him when he turned back and Quillin was still standing. At that point he had no choice but to stop it because S8C not allowed in championship fights. If Quillin had actually went down he would've gotten a M8C.

Niether do I. This referee is getting a lot of static for nothing, I mean it wasn't like he pulled a Jay Nady via Tito /Vargas.

Yea I don't disagree with the Quillin taking a knee part & have mentioned that myself, but I still think due to how the ref mishandled the situation there shoulda been a more conclusive ending allowed. Either Jacobs would have ended it for real if the ref hadn't gotten involved too early or Quillin should have been given the time to recover via an 8 count after the miscalled KD or w/e was going on there (idek how the eff you act like he did before you see a guy fall, even if people wanna praise the stoppage I think Dock gets a knucklehead of the night award for the part before the stoppage which was clearly bad reffing imo).

But again maybe the ref asked him some question about the day of the week & Quillin said potato (I haven't heard anything like that yet, but maybe thats what went down), but just based on what I saw I don't want fights to be stopped by the ref like that. Not at the elite level of the game. I want as conclusive endings as possible & guys given max ability, within reason, to win the fight.
