Straight from the man who was getting punched in the face. Anybody that disagrees with Quillin needs their head examined.

I don't question the stoppage. His bell was beyond rung. He got ****ing mauled, fans aren't happy until someone is laying unconscious.

He didn't complain when the ref stopped it. He didn't complain during his interview in the ring. He said it was a good stoppage at the post fight conference. I can't believe people are even questioning this.

I agreed with the stoppage, Quillin was faded on his feet. I honestly doubt he could have been able to recover, especially since Jacobs is heavy handed and Quillin wasn't even attempting to initiate defensive tactics.

Bad stoppage. Let the men fight. Imagine Bradley-Holt being stopped in the 1st. Or Bradley-Provodnikov. Countless other examples.

The ref's confusion and pausing the fight gave him no choice but to stop the fight. If he had pause the fight and stopped Jacbobs from punching unloading on Quillin just to resume the action, he would have gotten a lot backlash and accused of trying to help Quillin survive the attack. He HAD to stop it not only because Quillin was visibly hurt, but also because he would have looked like he was giving Quillin a breather. He appeared to be confused and then realized he had to stop it because he already broke up Jacobs momentum.

His only out would have been to call it a kd saying the ropes held him up and give him a count.

He stepped in because he thought Quillin was going down. That's why he was directing Jacobs to the neutral corner and was about to start the count. He turned back around and saw Quillin never went down. Quillin didn't grab the ropes to stay up but he brushed up against them. I wouldn't have ruled that a knockdown. Plus he never saw that so Im not sure he could've called it a KD if he didn't see it. When he turned back around Quillin was doing the bambi dance with his eyes looking like he just snorted an 8 ball.
