Andre Ward is all of 31 years old, just tentatively moving into his third weight class. Beyond that, no one ever said anything about a heavyweight title run; like Roy Jones Jr, Andre Ward envisioned himself, one day, challenging for a heavyweight title.

Because, frame for frame, Andre Ward and Roy Jones Jr are about the same size (Ward being a couple inches taller likely opens up for another 10-15lbs beyond where Roy Jones went up to in his move; Roy is a bit longer though).

Roy Jones Jr was 34 years old when he fought John Ruiz for his share of the heavyweight title. In three years, Andre Ward would be 34 years of age, having spent that whole period of time at 175 or higher.

I doubt that he would go after an 'Anthony Joshua' or 'Deontay Wilder' title shot, but if a guy like Ruslan Chagaev has a heavyweight title in three years, you can bet your bottom dollar that a 6'1 205lb Andre Ward would be looking at getting a shot.
