ive seen them both fight, and in their matchups, ali proved he was faster. he was ripping combinations on patterson. ali's 1-2 was something behold.

when they first fought he was already a pro for 13years. jus alittle something u maybe didnt know before u threw out this post and the second time was 72. he was a 20year pro then. i dont think u can rate hand speeds with prime and totally outta there prime fighters

There's Ali,Patterson,Tyson,Ezzard Charles and lot's of others, but which one would you say is THE fastest.

Ali APPEARED to be very fast because of his long reach and theatrical style. Anybody who fought both Ali and Patterson will tell you that Patterson was faster.

Ali has to be the fastest.But I would put Tyson at second.
His hand speed in his prime was brutal.

so u tell me if a 83 ali fought a lets say an 86s tyson it would be fair to rate tyson as faster although he's alot younger and in or near his prime?? your not makin ne sense. so does larry holmes suck ass cause tyson knocked him out out of his prime?? or did he go down quicker cause he was gettin older?? so in other words jus cause your young to u that means that u dont lose handspeed and u should be rated with who ever u were fighting at the time although they could have over 10years under u. your not makin ne sense.and what does age have to do with prime?? tyson was out of prime by 24 so that doesnt matter neither
