hmm, I think Patterson had overall faster hands then Ali, but Ali gave the illusion he was faster because he had the reach, that poking jab, pretty skinny and threw some nice combinations for a heavyweight. But overall, I still think Patterson had the better handspeed, but Ali had better footspeed.

**** honestly i dont know yall i mean its a good argument for ALI and PATERSON but if i had to choose one id pick TYSON ive watched plenty of fights of all three and TYSON was quick and accurate as ****, i mean maybe ALI and PATTERSON where fast in the gym but name a fight where they showed off there spectacuialr speed... I know i can name plenty of TYSON fights

i said patterson was a close second, i didn't say it was a runaway . if you watch ali's fights in the early 60s, his hands were definetely faster than patterson, according to these eyes.

man look, if your gonna be nasty about it, then there's no sense us talking about this. it's close; if you watch both of them in their prime, then you will agree that it's close. i have seen ali do things with his hands that i thought were impossible for fighters, especially hw's to do. patterson is unreal too, but i do believe that ali's fastest shots are slightly faster than patterson's shots.
