    Why doesn't Froch fight Kovalev?

If Froch is such a legend why did he never move up in weight? If he's such a warrior why is it that he'll only come out of retirement to fight a smaller guy like Golovkin?

Im not trying to defend Lil G, because I think he should move up to fight Ward or Froch, but I don't understand why this double standard exists for Froch. People say Ward should move up, Lil G should move up, but Froch gets away with staying at the same weight. Kovalev-Froch would be a great fight don't you guys think?

He said he won't come out of retirement at all. Fair play to him, doesn't need to prove a thing and isn't short of money

froch literally cleaned out the division ward just beat the man that did it.

      So Froch>Ward...

Thats the reason ward has nobody to fight at 168 Froch killed them all and froch was gonna fight Chavez and retire on that till chavez off'd himself against fonfara so froch just retired.

Ward is still active thats why people calling for that fight (vs kovalev) or his he gonna fight a bunch of nobodies at 168 or carl froch leftovers?

That's a good question and it would be a big fight the UK vs russia would be big no doubt
Hopefully kov would come down to a fair 172 weight

Found it funny Froch saying he's too big for 168 now but GGG is the name he's enticed for not Ward or Kovalev.
If Froch stayed active I would have fancied him for beating Ward in a rematch.

I think this is the biggest knock on Froch's case of being a true great. He essentially cleared out SMW, won multiple titles, had a contentious loss to Kessler and a loss to Ward who was highly touted at the time (his own greatness is in serious trouble but for different reasons) but he never extended himself to bigger fights at 175, i.e. Kov, Stevenson or Bhop at the time, instead opting for Groves in what he expected would be an easy night.

I think the GGG fight does little for him and his legacy, although the money would be big. If he wins, we says "GGG was too small", if he loses, we say "he got beat by a smaller guy".

Froch v a legitimate 168 pounder (DeGale) or a LHW is the only way to go for a come back.

Well he never proved that he was capable of moving up in weight. And I get he has money, but alot of boxers have money and we the fans still ask to see them in great fights. The point is that he's willing to come out of his very short retirement for a middleweight, but not for a bigger guy like Kovalev. As a fan I don't see the problem in asking for this fight, it would be a huge fight in the UK and it would be a war.

Yeaa... I get that you don't like Ward but he's not really the point of this thread. This thread is about a potential fight between Kovalev and Froch.

I could see Kovalev coming down to 172, but Froch has to want it first. It's crazy to me that this fight is never mentioned by Froch, but especially by the fans. I see so many fans on this forum saying Canelo, GGG, and Ward need to move up, but nobody ever says it about Froch.

I gave you the scenario, you asking about the double standard, so who is this double standard is against then if your not talking about ward? (who you mention in your thread)

and if we arent going to discuss why then your subject/thread is invalid because Froch is officially retired. so what the fuck is your point?
