Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch says promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions seemed intimidated when they met face to face at Saturday's huge event in Dusseldorf, where Tyson Fury upset Wladimir Klitschko for the heavyweight titles.

Froch spoke to Loeffler about facing middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin at a catch-weight. He believes Loeffler realized the size difference and made up his mind that a fight with Golovkin was a bad idea. The two sides were negotiating earlier this year before Froch announced his retirement from boxing.

You were kind of lippy and mildly entertaining (in the interview). Loeffler could hardly get a word in edgeways but when he did he was respectful and soft spoken. You made the interview all about you and your weight having gone up and about being happy in retirement. And about fighting in front of 80,000 fans at Wembley and about your very lovely Rachel. (We've heard all that before you bore). Golovkin got mentioned and you said you could smash him at 172.

Now, a week after the interview you are coming out with this shite - you must have a weak memory.

Loeffler meanwhile IS indeed talking with Canelo's advisers and the WBC. Loeffler has long forgotten that boring 5-10 minutes in your challenging egocentric company. He has bigger fish to fry.
