I have watched both, and I clearly come down on the boxing side. Some boxing fights are boring no doubt (especially if Ruiz is involved) but technically holding too much is against the rules of boxing while it is a major part of MMA. MMA can have exciting striking like C. Lidell but the fights are short and uneventful. There are rarely UFC or Pride fights that go the distance with a lot of striking. It's either spectacular KO or intense boredom.

i will admit that lately i have enjoyed mma more than i have boxing. mma is brutal, downright brutal. they fight cuz they want to hurt each other and they want the title. boxers today want nothing absolutely NOTHING but money.

if a mma fighter had a choice of fighting some1 for $1 million or fighting for the title for $500,000, hed probly take the title shot.

if a boxer were in that situation, hed take the $1 million, cuz he has no desire to do anything in his career aside from make money. its digusting, really.

Easy to say when they're fighting for peanuts in MMA (relatively). Try showing those guys the kind of money that big time boxers get and tell me their attitude doesn't change. Human nature.

those "peanuts" are huge numbers compared to what most people make. some fighters make more in one night than most people do in a few years. you dont need to get ridiculously large paydays in order to live a luxurious life.

besides, after cuts from the trainer, manager, promoter, sanctioning fees, the money that boxers get isnt as much as most people think. with the mma, you dont need to worry about promoters, managers, or sanctioning fees.

Each one is used to their own rules. Just depends on which rules one trains to fight under. Great fighters are where you find them. I like a great boxing match better than a great MMA match, because I don't much care to watch 2 sweaty guys getting off on each other in the guard position....

for every great boxing match there is, theres at least 5 great mma matches. it takes a lot for a boxing match to be good. mma is entertaining in its brutality and versatility.

great boxing matches are too few and far between. the average mma match is far more entertaining than the average boxing match.

There's too much hugging on the ground in MMA

UFC is all right sometimes but where's the class? MMA people always diss boxing but boxing people don't give a damn. If the matchup is good then it's a good fight regardless if it's boxing or MMA.

The lighter fighters in boxing are more exciting than all fights in MMA and heavyweight fights in boxing. The best fights right now come from featherweight to lightheavyweight divisions of boxing....and the LHW in UFC. Whoa that got complicated..

i never said i think boxing is boring.
ive only just started watching other forms of combat besides boxing.

i just dont rate mma as badly as i did a few months ago.
