Thurman is gonna destroy Porter. Far worse than what Brook did.

I don't mind a "build up" to this fight. As long as they actually fight the other top guys in their division and under the same umbrella, obviously. Not some more bs no hopers.Comment

There aint no second thoughts from Thurman. The only reason the fight got delayed and is on hold is because PBC hasn't been doing well. Both camps are under haymon so this in not drama from promoters trying to agree on the split or other details. That crap was already worked out and both camps said if Thurman won his fight in July he was facing Porter next on PBC later in the year. The fight was done MONTHS ago. The delay matches up with the same shift we have seen on PBC. First half of the year Haymon had all his A list top fighters fighting on PBC. Then the ratings were bad and PBC likely has already lost more money they then anticipated and you saw a huge change in the second half of the PBC cards this year. Instead of top Haymon guys like Thurman, Garcia, Broner headlining you got names like Figueroa on the NBC primetime cards. Instead of names like Khan on the Spike cards you got names like Barthelemy. You see Haymon's A list fighters fighting back on Showtime like Broner and he's filling his PBC cards with his B and C class fighters because their purses are lower. If the fights on Showtime they pay the purses ect. If it's on PBC Haymon and the investors pay the purses. So it's about limiting the losses PBC Investors incur for the remainder of the year because they are probably well over their forecast or the amount they are comfortable losing in year 1.
So that's why you see fights that were first supposed to happen on PBC like Jacobs vs Quillen being moved to showtime and other big names moving back to showtime or taking off the second half of the year. And Thurman vs Porter is on ice with neither fighter taking any other fights while they figure out whether to throw it on PBC next year so it doesn't count towards year 1 losses. Hell maybe they are going to wait and see how the Fox PBC card does and if that tanks in the ratings like the PBC cards this year maybe they move the fight to Showtime all together.
But the fight will happen Thurman is not getting cold feet he's not scared of Porter. It's just Haymon trying to maneuver around PBC losses and figuring out what network to air this fight on.Comment

I like thurman and porter, but I think porter is too slick too smooth for one time.
I don't see anything special in thurman's boxings skills, what makes him that much better than the competition is his will to win/love for his profession and his lifestyle/training.Comment

Haymon business ethics have ruined Thurman's potential and turned him into an overly cautious cherry picker. It's unfortunate because at this rate he's going to slip up and not look so good with these fringe contenders, kinda like that early scare with Collazo.
Even his style has changed, hesitant to pull the trigger, excessive foot work, offense has now been watered down to pot shotting.
It's almost like Khan, with how he became a less dominating and dangerous fighter. His greatest asset was his overwhelming offense. I remember a time where your only chance of beating Khan was to survive the constant onslaught and maybe you'll get a clean shot in the closing rounds. Maidana was able to implement this tactic and walked away with tremendous respect with his heart and mental fortitude to withstand that many clean, flush combos all night.
Thurman needs to realize his strengths and be the dangerous fighter he marketed himself as. Walking into the ring not willing to take any risks or gambles because you think you have to much to lose will make it so you will not have anything to gainComment

All Porter has to do is continue on where Collazo left off. Beat the he!! outta the body for a few rounds... and drop the pretender.Comment

Whether it was a naive young Thurman that grew up or a fundamental change to his perspective on his career from the puppet master himself, he has adapted to what Haymon fighters do best.
Which is cherry pick, take no risk, line your pockets with as much doe before its too late.Comment

Thurman early on was a hungry ambitious lion and now he has reduced himself to a "business man". That's putting it delicately.
