As much as I love Marquez, he should just focus on his last fight.

I get people have a problem with catch weights but that problem existed a long time before Canelo. Remember Canelo had to agree to a catch weight of 152 to fight Mayweather. Marquez had to agree to catch weight which Mayweather didn't even honor to get a fight with Floyd. Cotto had to agree to a catchweight to fight Pacquiao. And on and on. I do know that GGG started his career over a decade ago and has still refused to move up or down in weight to face better competition. Has he been baby sat? Canelo has fought everyone, he could wait a year to fight GGG at 160 for all I care. He has EARNED that right with me because of the level of competition and the fact he has already faced every fighter you or anyone else said he wouldn't. Meanwhile we got guys like Wilder and Thurman who are older who have belts a long time now and still forget fighting the best guy they aint fighting any of the top 5 guys in their division at all. That is baby sitting! Canelo fighting Trout, Mayweather, Angulo, Lara, Kirkland, Cotto all months after he turned 25 is just plain dumb to call baby sitting. That's a murderous row of tough fights with everything from sluggers, southpaws, defensive wizards, top 10 p4p fighters and future hall of famers. He hasn't ducked a single fighting style. You got fighters who REFUSE to fight anyone with power or refuse to face a single southpaw or refuse to face a single defensive fighter. Canelo fighting them all.
Ok man, so are you defending Canelo requesting a 155 CW? he weights a bit more than GGG at fight night, he's not the smaller man. He's the MW champion too.

See how you all are babysitting him?

This is not a case of an optional defense. It's mandatory.

He "fought" some good fighters but everytime having a big weight advantage, similar to Chavez jr. Now he's afraid of losing that weight advantage?

Floyd made him weigh in at 152 but he still outweighted Floyd.

Floyd fought Cotto a year earlier at 154 and years earlier fought Oscar at 154. Why did he make Canelo agree to 152 or no fight? Because he was the bigger star and wanted the advantage so he weakened Canelo and Canelo agreed to it so that's what the fight is at. Optional/Mandatory means nothing. It's about the bigger star has been using catch weights for a long time now has nothing to do with Canelo. Tell me what weights Pacman has fought at this last decade? What was the weight for Floyd for the Marquez fight? And didn't GGG just tell ward if he wants to fight it has to be at a Catchweight? So you are arguing in the defense of a fighter WHO IS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING TO OTHER FIGHTERS? How the hell do you think Cotto got the belt in the first place? By catchweight which Sergio had to agree to if he he wanted the fight. Point is all these fighters do it. Not just Canelo. And you bashing him when nobody knows yet when or what weight the fight with GGG will be at. I just named multiple fights that actually happened and nobody cries about them. So why start now?

And stop again with the lies Lara, Kirkland, Angulo, Trout were all fights where Canelo did NOT have a huge weight advantage. All these guys are really big men who shrink their body down to 154 to gain an advantage by rehydrating just like all fighters do across numerous weight classes. Lara started his career fighting at 158 at the same time when Canelo was fighting at 147 and is talking about moving up to 160. He's a big dude too. Angulo and Trout are currently fighting their last 3 fights at middlweight. Kirkland has fought at middleweight above 154 multiple times and was huge looked as big as a truck against Canelo on fight night.

I want to disagree with Marquez, but he does have a point. Cotto is an aging, smaller man, but Canelo needed to face him & beat him to begin raising his stock. Now, he needs to move on to bigger and better things, like powerhouse GGG. And not @ some bitch ass catch weight, Canelo. We all know you walk around @ 170+lbs.

The problem is it's all out of hatred and jealousy from Marquez. I'm fine with someone saying Canelo has to prove himself at 160. But to slam on Canelo and then praise Estrada? What the F has Estrada proven? That's where Marquez's argument exposes himself. He has always hated Canelo and picked Cotto to win the fight going in. So now that he wins and proves him wrong he throws Estrada in the middle to take a shot at Canelo and his spot as the best mexican fighter. Head to head based purely on accomplishments Canelo has already done more then Estrada.

He is a host for the show Golpe a Golpe. This is where boxingscene gets most of the Marquez quotes and opinions. Its his job to give his opinion and make statements about fights/fighters/boxing.

Estrada needs to beat Chocolatito first, then he could be consider one of the best out there Mexican boxer, and Canelo is not that good,

hes a host? I thought he was just an occasional guest like morales or Chavez. Also I don't like how they sleep on Zurdo. He can be a champ in his next fight and not even a mention

If Estrada has somehow proven himself more then Canelo the why is Canelo on EVERYONE'S top 10 P4P list right now and Estrada is not? Its because anyone with a brain can see Estrada while a good fighter is not fighting and beating the same level of competition as canelo. I could back Marquez if he said canelo needs to fight GGG if he wants to reach Chavez or an all time greats level. Or of he said he needs to fight GGG if he wants to be number 1 P4P. But to say he needs to beat GGG to be ahead of...Estrada that's just foolish. Estrada has tons of holes in his resume and already lost to the GGG of his weight. Canelos resume right now is better then Estrada and he's already a bigger star in Mexico then Estrada.

I see what you mean, & that's why I want to disagree with Marquez. It's clear that he's not a fan of Canelo. But honestly, who gives a fuck what Marquez thinks? Piss drinking buffoon!
