He starts immediately. Hershman's contract isn't up until Dec. 31st. But you telling me Hershman wasn't pushed out? And Taffert resigned a couple weeks after Hershman.

First they've ever had that isn't. I didn't believe it was possible. But his bosses are.

Richard Plepler hired Nelson to be a director in HBO sports after being a freelance writer. He's very passionate about the sport and recognizes the value of building a story line to the fights. Strongly recommend listening to his interview on HBO podcast from September.

Hershman wasn't pushed out. HBO had a great year under him. My guess is he is bouncing to do something else something bigger and his stock was at a alltime high so he chose to leave. Taffert left because once Hershman was announced he wanted to be promoted up to take his job. Once he found out he was being passed over AGAIN (he wanted Herschman's job the last time there was an opening) he knew it wasn't in the cards and HBO would never promote him so he left.

Ross Greenburg the man before Herschman was pushed out and it was nasty and very public. We haven't heard anything from either side to suggest this was forced.

I think he might be half ***ish actually.

Nelson used to be a writer, now he is the vp of hbo sports, not just boxing but hbo sports, i wonder how much he knows about other sports, i know he is a boxing historian.

This means that al haymon will probably be back on hbo, hopefully we get wilder vs fury, that fight will do at least 1 million buys.

Taffert got screwed over bad, they hired a former writer who wrote articles about boxing for different websites over him. Nelson is inexperienced but hbo seems to have faith in him.

I doubt it. If HBO hired a new guy from outside of the company that would of been a sign Haymon might return. Instead they hired the number 2 man who was basically Hershman's apprentice. My guess is it will be business as usual.
