Pascal must've attended a seminar at Shannon Briggs School Of Wacko Trash Talk to hear him go off. I saw somewhere a transcript of all Pascal said at the press conference. The guy saying others are low-class, gets the Emmy for low-class after that tirade. To me, the bottom line is, Kovalev talks with his fists in the ring, does a fine job of it, and is still loyal to the promoter who gave him his first real break. He may leave Duva at some point, but at least for now, he stays. I wouldn't necessarily blame him if he did, afterall there are some seriously deep pockets in this sport, but I kinda doubt he will. But anyway, what he does now adds up to integrity and a good work ethic, with a stumble or two with the racist talk that he probably didn't even realize was racist at the time anyway. He and John David Jackson have done some great things so far. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

****** is, is what ****** says !
Insinuating , implying or comparing someone Black to a monkey may be the oldest running racist joke the world over . For u to even attempt to spin that incident as accidental racism is as reprehensible as it is deplorable .Comment

Kovalev has always been promoted by the bad guy and he surely does have it in him, but he is also very funny, charismatic and friendly, those sides are barely shown because he has been put into that bad guy role. There's not really a counterpart in the division, an arch rival that you need to sell tickets and to build up a promotion towards. Nobody outside of Canada really cares about Stevenson, to me he is more like a insecure clown with the intellect and vocabulary of someone who didnt even go to school. Also he talks like Mickey Mouse.
If Kovalev was from one of the boxing nations with bigger fanbases like Mexico, Puerto Rico or the USA he would be a star by now, probably on #1 p4p on most lists and be just everywhere in the media.
People didnt really care about a Sergio Martinez for example even though he was good looking, he was a great guy, good person with alot of charisma. Only at the end of his career he got somewhat appreciated.Comment

Having Golovkin's name thrown in with Sergio Martinez, Floyd Mayweather, Andre Ward(in his peak) and now Cotto/Alvarez also doesn't hurt Golovkin. He's luckier to be in a division around those guys.Comment

Pascal said that Kovalev isn't a star. The reason that he may not be selling many tickets, is because he hasn't fought any real stars yet, outside of old man Hopkins. Pascal calls himself a star, yet he was beaten soundly by Kovalev in their first meeting. Sergey will likely beat Jean handily again, yet it will not boost his star power much. Why? Because despite Pascal's claim that he is a star, the fact is that he's only a star in Quebec, and a fading one at that.Comment
