Won't Canelo have to make a decision this week?

Golovkin isn't earning peanuts any more.

Actually CW's are for 2 fighters fighting 1 weight class apart. Its to even out the playing field. GGG and Canelo are both in the same weight class.

Canelo looked like a SMW on fight night. Why he chooses to drain himself down to 155 only to pack on 15-20lbs over night is beyond me.

If so, it means he basically has this week to do something.
The WBC is corrupt. Remember what they did to Segio? Please.
Canelo is Mexican. He is cash cow. WBC will not enforce anything.

WBC in August: "The winner must fight Gennady Golovkin then (after that) they can do whatever they want"

WBC in November: "There is no disadvantage in doing a doubleheader"

WBC in December: "Por favor, quien es golovkeen senor?"

what can he do? Get canelo stripped? So he can win the wbc belt in an office instead of a ring like a proper champ? Honestly, he'll look like a ***** if he does this

meanwhile, he'll lose a career high payday, all the exposure from beating ginger and the only megafight available for him

ggg must take this fight or he'll look like an idiot, if he's a great as we think he is, he should be able to beat catchnelo even at 155. He was confident on beating floyd at 154 after all

The WBC, like all sanctioning bodies, loves whichever fighter makes them the most money. Alvarez provides a hell of a lot more money to the WBC than Golovkin. Therefore, the WBC will continue to allow Alvarez to do whatever the hell he wants, just as they did when he fought at 154.

Congratulations, 20 months after Carl Froch's last fight, he's stated that he was willing to come back to fight at 172lbs.

Funny how you've actively ignored the other part of the query, figuring out how long ago K2 was chasing the Froch fight at 168.

My guess is that the initial discussion happened about a year ago, when Froch was still less than 8 months removed from being primed to fight.

                better luck next time.

lol. The big bucks are really going to be rolling in for Golovkin vs Tureano Johnson.
