he is very impressive but he won't start impressing the mainstream until he beats a bigger name.

It is hard for me to call any fighter the future until I see them with other top opponents. When you think about it, it does not take much for a fighter to derail. We know more when they reach deep waters.

We saw an example of it yesterday with Imam. Errol does have a very good skillset, and I believe he will be at least a player in the division, but time will tell.

He is an offensive fighter not a defensive one, if you are looking for the next Floyd that won't be Spence who is aggressive and best suited fighting. However, someone does not need to be Floyd to be highly successful and what matters is how he can deal with fighters who do not suit his talents.

Can he make his talents work on a level that it forces guys even that don't suit him to fight in a way that it makes it easier for himself.

Every time I see him he gets hit but he is generally doing the best thing for his talent even if that makes him vulnerable to the odd punch.

Not trying to bash the kid but i just dont see whats so special about him honestly

I agree. He is a solid young prospect, but I need to see him fight a quality fighter before I really can rate him.

I know he said he was turned down, but a fighter like Collazo is the kind of competition he should be fighting right now. Or maybe Devon Alexander.

He looks good right now. We'll see how he develops moving forward.
lol how long is he gonna be a prospect for? He should be entering his prime soon, time to step it up.

Methinks Amir Imam part 2 is on the way

Solid fighter but these American amateur standouts seem to have issues fighting in only 1 or 2 gears. Professional swarmers/pressure fighters always trouble them because they don't fight at a chess match boxing speed.

They look good against guys they can keep pace or set the pace with. I don't know if it's just me but a lot of the American amateurs fight fairly similar in how they shoot punches and the pacing of their punches.

Imam, Spence, Sammy Vazquez, JoJo Diaz.. I feel like they all punch in similar ways in how they pop and deliver. Also the timing and punch sequences.

Granted there are some who have developed into fine fighters but have their own peculiar styles.. Terence Crawford and Danny Garcia for example. Mikey Garcia too.
