The hype this kid gets would make you think he is some super fighter, he looks ok but nothing i jump out my seat about. He can fight but his defense is leaky as hell and he is stiff and rather robotic. It seems like to may young fighters get hyped up on here and other websites without even proving themselves first. Not trying to bash the kid but i just dont see whats so special about him honestly

Spence is the truth IMO. I don't think anybody at 147 can expose him the way Imam was exposed. He might lose decisions to 1 or 2 guys at welterweight at the moment but they're going to take a beating in the process.
Spence looks better and better each time out. We've only seen the half of it.
I think he's going to be King of 147 in a couple years.Last edited by BOXEO _; 11-29-2015, 04:22 PM.

I think he's a very good fighter. There are some flaws to his game but the tools are there. His defense is leaky sometimes but I wonder if that's because of the level of his competition. I need to see him challenged. I thought Ghost would've been a good fight for him. Even Collazo. He is not ready for Brook yet. He also won't be able to make 147 to much longer. I like Spence and enjoy watching him fight.

He's not even THAT hyped. He's a "solid competitor" and probably future champ. If you don't think he's good then what prospect is?

I'm not overly impressed with him yet either the way many are. To me he looks very beatable when I think of him being matched up against the best 147lbers. I can even see some maybe stopping him from what I've seen. I agree with you in that he seems a little easy to hit when someone actually chooses to throw at him which is why I have no problem with him being moved slowly for now. I think throwing him in with a top welterweight would be a bad move for him right now. He can still improve no doubt but he isn't exactly young either like Verdejo for example. I think by the end of next year he will be a finished product and people can really get a good look at what he will be as far as his strengths and weaknesses.

I don't know why threads are titled a way when the TS knows damn well other people have aired their criticism.
Peraonally, I have been impressed. Too many people expect fighters to throw fast snapping punches which is why the limes of Devon were so overrated back in the day. They forget that it is okay to throw meaty and well places punches.
So far I like the way he dictates pace and the wY he puta punches together. I see him making the necessary adjustment when getting tagged which suggests he is awarw of the openings he leaves. I need to see him sharpwn up against tougher opposition so a fight with Brook or Thurman would be appreciated.

He's a prospect. He's still learning. I think it's kind of ****** that people want to throw him in with fighters like Thurman and Brook already. I know he said he was turned down, but a fighter like Collazo is the kind of competition he should be fighting right now. Or maybe Devon Alexander.
He looks good right now. We'll see how he develops moving forward.

I dunno why you'd think that he looked great last night, showed a will to get his opponent out of there is very good working in the thick of it, good countering the guy is class and great to watch.
He could definitely beat Kell Brook.
