I don't know about coward...but he's always been mechanical and a front runner. He's never been a complete fighter, just very good at using what works for him. Unfortunately for him today, one of those things been a size/ reach advantage.

If he was a coward he wouldn't have gotten up against Samuel Peter 3 times. He wouldn't been able to defend his titles for 9.5 years. Say what you want about the level of competition but that's difficult to do.

I honestly just think he's gotten bored and old. He's been the perpetual third guy financially throughout the Floyd/Manny thing and is set for 30 lifetimes, held the absolute division of boxing under his foot for a decade.
How does he even get himself hyped mentally anymore? Tyson wanted that win a LOT more than Wladimir. Wlad was in another day at the office mode, didn't seem to understand he was losing until the last 2 rounds when he was too tired to do anything.

Unfortunately, Wlad doesn't fight hard - even when he has to.
But I definitely wouldn't call him a coward.
But when your behind with numerous titles at stake you have to turn it up a notch.
