The problem is that GGG has a mandatory in Johnson and Lara is looking for fights in his division first before he considers moving up. If GGG can't get Canelo or the winner of Andy Lee/Saunders in the ring after he KO's Johnson's booty, he should go after Lara if HBO allows it since Hershman left. The reason for this fight not happening yet is a mix of politics and schedules. Both fighters just have to keep on winning and looking good and they should fight mid-late 2016.

I think Lara could have beaten Canelo that night if he just stepped on the gas a lil bit more. It was his own fault he lost. Even when the fight was close you dont deserve to win with a effort like that.

You kidding?? GGG fans are throwing fits about this, coming up with every excuse possible to hide their massive concerns.
I don't think Lara would win but it would at least be ONE legit name on Golovkin's resume. If Genady is so good and he's wanting to fight 4x per year, why are people soooo against this?

They dont care that the Haymon/HBO thing likely makes this fight a non-starter. Actually, they love it because they can go on and on and on and on about how GGG is somehow ducking the track star Lara, and blah blah blah, with little risk of the fight actually being made, and them seeing their guy knocked into the 4th row.

I just wish they knew how silly they look, thinking that ANY fighter, especially one with GGG credentials, is afraid of Erislandy friggin Lara. Its hilarious.....

Nobody is wining a close fight with Canelo, a complete shut up will get you at best a SD like Mayweather, the guy gets like at least 4 round via judges just by been Canelo.

And what's the excuse of Canelo vs Cotto, the guy promess a war and only 480 punches?only like 6 more punches per round than Lara vs Canelo.
