there were technical reasons they didn't go to monaco for ggg's fight with adama not because adama was unworthy it was the production issues.you must be thinking about ward's opponents who have been so bad that HBO refused to televise those fights.I lost count there was so many.thats why ward is on bet and got kicked off the canelo vs cotto ppv.

      • No reason why this fight can't happen in 2016. Canelo vs Golovkin won't be happening any time soon, anyway. Considering Team 3G wants 4 fights a year, they might as well accommodate Lara. HBO can always add an attractive undercard for a backup fight to draw viewers.

        Make it happen.

Canelo, but #2 is way better than being blacklisted. It's also amazingly good when you consider Ggg probably never seen 6figures 3.5 years ago, and lucked his way into an HBO date

On that topic though, guys who fight Mayweather get tiny amounts of the purse. Even Canelo only got $5 million to fight Mayweather, Golovkin could get as much to fight Canelo as he would get against Mayweather.

Seeing as we're talking about fighting for world titles, Geale and Barker are both very much average. The difference between the levels is very apparent, look what happened when Geale fought genuine world class in Golovkin and Cotto.

The reason is pretty simple: he may not get the fight otherwise. Canelo is showing no intention of going to 160, he'll keep making the 154-155 fights and Golovkin will be stuck with more poor opposition. Beating those guys is something he can keep doing no problem, but a Canelo fight outweighs 5 of those.
            1) I mentioned Floyd because you erroneously stated that

GGG and his team are on record saying they would do 154 for FLOYD. not a "big PPV fight." They stated that they would go to 168 for "big PPV fight," but did not expressly say that regarding 154.

            2) Your math is off on this. Mayweather opponents get what they get because of his enormous leverage + the fact that most of his opponents are not mandatory nor are they interim champs.

2b) Your math is horribly off on this. I already broke it down. GGG is the WBC interim champ and per WBC rules is entitled to 45% of the purse. Plus, 20-25% of a purse involving Mayweather is more than 45% of a purse w/ Canelo.

            3) Geale was sickly looking, weight drained to 157lb as a 34yr old middleweight who should probably be fighting at 168 now. Cotto was sharp and did what he was supposed to, but I don't give him much credit for that win, so I can't discredit Geale much either for the loss.

            4) Canelo weighing 160 at the weigh in, is coming soon. He doesn't have many options other than the same sort of poor opposition you are deriding GGG for.

4b) Yes, Canelo fight is GGG's best option. but it's not that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that GGG needs to cave into his demands immediately. You still have not illustrated why he should do that. While I have explained why GGG should be patient (as us fans should do). The fight will happen.

            • GGG is good but if he ever wants to fight ward this is good practice for GGG. Its an intriguing fight for the fans also and To see how GGG attacks the amateur style which is the same as ward style.

              • Going into the Canelo fight Lara promised to give Canelo a beating and knock him out. Instead he ran away the whole fight, landing some punches on the run. He did stop running occasionally to lands some punches and then he was back on the run again. Lara and Canelo were credited with landing ablout the same number of punches by the punch count. Canelo clearly was the winner of a close fight by going forward and landing the harder punches. As much as I like Canelo I know that GGG is a more experienced fighter and a better boxer than Canelo. GGG is the best puncher in boxing. Lara is fast and skillful with a great defense. He has studied GGG and knows his flaws. Lara still can't get in the ring and beat GGG. Lara ran from Canelo so he will run even more from the harder punching GGG. GGG has too much reach and too good of jab for Lara to outdo him at long range. GGG will stay after Lara and add another KO win to his 22 KOs in a row. Angulo dropped Lara twice. GGG is a much faster, more accurate and harder puncher than Angulo. He will knock Lara out. Lara has not fought a top contender since losing to Canelo. If he wants to fight the world's best middleweight he needs to beat a good middleweight to prove himself and he has no wins over any middleweight to date.

Ward has moved to 175 and says he will never return to 168 so there will never be a GGG -Ward fight. Ward does a lot of wrestling, clinching, holding and hitting and in fighting. Lara is a long range sharp shooter who rarely holds or wrestles. Lara's style is very different from Ward's style but they are both hard to hit cleanly.

                    • I suppose we need to sit back and wait for Golovkin's latest bunch of excuses.

not a mw doe..... even though Rosado wasn't either

needs to prove himself..... even though nobody else did

not a draw doe...... which is why they selected Monroe

Let me guess what the next excuse will be.....

but he Cuban doe...... that fight can't happen unless Golovkin clearly understands what his opponent is saying at the press conference
