It doesn't make sense for someone to go down in weight to face a guy who just going to outweigh you fight night anyway. At least with Mayweather, he'd still weigh more than Floyd. But Canelo's most likely not going to budge, so I don't know what Golovkin should do.

What comes after Golovkin beats Canelo? He won't be a instant ppv star for it. HBO needs to cut a deal that lets Golovkin fight the Quillin/Jacobs winner and even Lara & Eubank. That buys Alvarez time to develop more and give us a true super fight.
Golovkin possesses none of these qualities. He has not fought any high quality fighters, has not demonstrated the willingness to fight any high quality fighters and does not have the personality to be a PPV star. He may appear on a few PPV shows if he is fighting an opponent who is worthy of a PPV, just like Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones, but he will always be the b-side of the PPV.
Canelo Alvarez has only appeared in two successful PPV events and he was the b-side to both of them. Alavarez does not have what it takes to become a PPV star and if Alvarez doesn't have it, Golovkin will definitely never be one.

Sure, Canelo may get out his checkbook and make GGG an offer that makes it worthwhile, but in the end, if GGG doesnt want to do 155, he doesnt have to. He can force Canelo to unbuckle the belt and hand it over

However, If you can't provide legitimate examples, keep you emotion-laden BS to yourself!
