He was truly begging for the fight when he was European champion and Ricky was the champ. When Witter was world champion, Ricky made 25 million dollars in one fight. Witter made peanuts in small arenas. There's no comparison to Khan who's best payday is like 1.5million.

Also, Khan isn't fighting anyone, Ricky was fighting Mayweather, Pacquiao and the likes at their peak. Khan is fighting Chris Algieris and Julio Diazs.

But the point you were most wrong with was it never hurt Ricky's career. Of course it did. People still wanted to see that fight and it sucks it didn't happen.

But if Khan continues to duck Brook. That would be shameful of biblical proportions.

It never hurt Hatton's career. It hurt witters career.

I cant see anywhere he has earned over $1.5 million (about £1million) for a single fight. And that was during his heyday, to my eyes he doesnt seem as popular now as he was then. To put that in perspective, Groves as the B-side to a big UK PPV made £2million.

And to the bolded, its true. And its why Khan would mug Brook off in negotiations and make himself a crap tonne of money.

So to sum up:

1. Khan makes much more money vs Brook than he does vs any of his other realistic options.

2. Brook is a good fight vs a top 5 WW (ie. No one can claim he is ducking other fighters).

As I said before, no brainer. Unless you are Khan. In which case it makes sense to sit around being passed over by genuine superstars and fighting other fringe contenders for $1,000,000.

Without wanting to sound like a boxing scene know all I've called Hearn out since day1, when other posters were calling him the saviour.
I backed Froch & Hearn from day1 when they were on itv & taking schtick..not jumping on the bandwagon. I'm a fan but like yourself in the post above I won't Swallow ****e & will voice a fighters limits.
I don't like Khan but the guy's fought huge names & has had twice the career Brook has had. Brook blamed Warren, now he's with Hearn & still isn't stepping up.

Im not claiming Matchroom or Brook bring big money by themselves. The Khan vs Brook event would bring big money.

Sometimes a fight is worth more than the sum of its parts. Khan vs Brook is one of those cases. Both stand to make way more in this than they could anywhere else (not including the retired Mayweather)

He will earn sponsorship money whoever he fights. In this context all that matters is his fight to fight earnings. Brook would be his biggest payday by quite a long way.

This isn't at u, boxing in terms of star power, legacy works by who you've fought, beat them & take their name, become a bigger star. Khans resume schits all over Brook. Why give Brook a shot? Whats he done to earn it? How does he make Khan a bigger star?
If they don't fight who do u think will earn more in their career? Who will have a better legacy? & more in the bank when retired?
