Do you guys understand that if Canelo won't fight Golovkin at 160 he will be stripped of the WBC title, UNLESS GGG AGREES to a catchweight?

Holding the lineal 160 MW belt and demanding his mando drain down to 155 (for a unification )

JUST FIGHT AT 160 FFS. THERE IS NO CANOLAWEIGHT.
(He still has time to make an official decision, but this is not a good look)

I never addressed this but the DIFFERENCE here that everyone who keeps bringing this up apparently fails to understand is that Canelo now holds the LINEAL 160 MW BELT. NONE of the other catchweight fight offers had a belt on the line (especially one that GGG needs to achieve his goals). GGG wants to be UNDISPUTED at 160. How hard is that to understand.

none of the other catch weight fights had a belt on the line because they were never even given the opportunity to be negotiated. Ward was shut down, Floyd never even considered it, etc...

Also, how exactly is he holdings the belt hostage if he will be stripped unless he fights GGG? Let's be honest here, all GGG wants is a payday with minimal risk. That's exactly why he ducked Ward and asked for a catch weight but was so willing to face Froch and Chavez Jr. at 168. He can drop for Floyd but won't do so for Canelo, even if the trinket he so desperately seeks in on the line .

If Canelo gets stripped, he gets his belt. Simple as that, so isn't this a win win situation for GGG? Or is the payday what he's truly after? Because if that's the case, then the whole unifying the division shtick was a hoax to avoid Ward while he was still at 168.

No there not!!! You don't remember how GGG is a itty, biity, VERY small MW??? And Canelo is a Light HW???

Their GGGTards. They get lied to soo much they can't even separate fact from fiction.

        154-168
        Anybody

        No only Floyd.
        No 164

        Lara not known enough

If your're the best, you should be willing to go out there and prove it.
But only against the GREATS like Monroe, Lemuix, Johnson, and Lee

150k. And that was just the American live TV audience.

GGG/Lemieux was also watched by millions of fans on none HBO PPV and cable TV worldwide. I watched it live on Boxnation, in the UK.

We understand it but who cares. Canelo is still a draw without the belt and will continue to be in big fights regardless.

Do you understand that Golovkin's options at 160 and 168 (now that Ward has moved up) are mediocre and if he doesn't agree to the catchweight he's basically throwing away the only superfight he has available to him?

Loeffler said the offer was for a 50-50 purse-split in 2016, after each fighter had prepared by taking one more fight earlier in the year.

Also, Loeffler said committing to a 50-50 purse-split is unfair.
'If the pay-per-view for the Lemieux fight is what we think it should be, Gennady would deserve more than 50 per cent against Ward

He added that he told Ward's promoters that Golovkin would be pleased to consider the bout in early 2017

'It would've been a bad deal to take,' he told the Los Angeles Times.

No SHT!!!! Becuase EVERYONE outside of GGGButtLAND KNOWS Ward would of took GGG to school. Been worse than

              Postol vs. Matty
              Pac vs. Mayweather
              Donaire vs. Rig.

              • Canelo just using his star power for advantage

Canelo just trying to gain an edge in fighting GGG is all I don't think he's scared. He could say 160 weigh in the day of the fight and that would be legit too. GGG will bend because this represents his biggest pay day and first real fighter he'll get full credit for fighting. GGG doesn't have one brand name on his resume. GGG will eventually bend to the demands. Now GGG see how it is when he asked for Ward to come down to 164 so GGG can come down 4/5 lbs.

And then Canelo can sit back and take all the good fights and throw the scraps to Lil G.

I think GGG is making a HUGE mistake!!! But his fans will hype GGG/Lee up to be a CAN'T miss PPV even and then no one watches it like his last one...

Imagine if Canelo said 2017 to Golovkin. Gennady groupies have been calling for this fight since he beat Angulo and especially after Lara. "But he at 155 thats middleweight doe" Golovkin has weighed in over 160 AKA "Super Middle Weight" but the same standard doesn't apply to GGG for the Ward situation does it?

Tell that to Andre Ward if he tries to fight another opponent so far below his level that NSAC won't sanction it for health and safety reasons
