  • This fight does not happen until September of next year. Canelo will fight in May at around 157. Maybe a rematch with Cotto, or someone with a name such as Peter Quillin or Jacobs winner. The most money is against Cotto. I don't think Cotto takes the fight but it makes the most financial sense for both camps.

GGG gets his shot just not when he wants or how he wants. GGG problem is he is not willing to budge or take any risk by moving up or down.

      Fucking dumbass.
you are expecting these idiots to understand anything? lol

All you need to know is the whiter guy is always wrong. Facts, context, details, none of that matters. The lightest guy is always in the wrong.

That should help you understand debating here at NSB.......

It was a mismatch from the start. GGG was a HUGE -2200 favorite and it was on PPV. I'll be t you anything that Bradley/Canelo would have more PPV buys than that fight did.
Actually he was -2000 to -1600, but Lemieux was a legit MW with a big punch coming off two wins over decent MW fighters in N'Dam & Rosado. And yes, the Golovkin/Lemieux ppv failed to be a success.

And yes again, Bradley/Alvarez will probably do between 300-400k buys, which way more, but then again Alvarez is now the sport's premiere attraction. This fight only hurts his image afterwards. I've already laid out how ineffective Bradley would be at 155lbs.

Respectfully, no one is saying GGG is wrong. Most people agree that a CW for a title fight is BS.

We are just pointing out that you have Canelo, a guy who was forced down in weight when he took his big payday, who is managed by ODH, a man who made 3 ATG's concede to his wishes if they wanted the big payday. Knowing this, it's hard to think Canelo will move off 155, especially considering what GGG and his team have said.

GGG isn't wrong, he is just in the position where he is forced to make a very difficult, very unfair choice-a choice that others before him have had to make as well.

Disgusting to see you post this. GGG is faced with the same choice a number of other fighters have been faced with before him.

They dealt with the disadvantage and overcame it and were rewarded because of it. Those that chose not to fight dealt with that decision as well.

Why should GGG be treated differently then fighters before him in the same relative position?

            • Oh damn...155lb is the new weight class (Canelo' Class). This will be Manny's biggest legacy. This catchweight nonsense.

Is that so? Then I challenge you to point out ONE instance where a mandatory challenger was forced to accept his mandatory challenge at a weight only 1 pound over the division below the one he is fighting in?

                Just ONE example.

                I'll wait.......

And where exactly do you draw the line as to what the "higher draw" should be able to demand from a lesser known mandatory challenger? Should he be able to limit the number of punches the other guy throws? Should he be allowed 15 seconds instead of 10 if he's knocked down? Should the lesser known guy have to offer 3 "free shots" per round?

Nobody is saying the bigger draw shouldnt demand concessions in optional fights. But when that also extends to mandatories, then this sport has finally lost whatever shred of credibility it had left....
