What are you talking about. Herrera outlanded Danny by overal punches and had a higher connect rate. And tripled the amount of jabs landed at a connect rate of 33%. None of which you can say for Cotto. How does that apply to what happened to Cotto. Look at the punch stats

Literally nothing is the same as the Danny vs Herrera fight. Only thing is the same is both Herrerra and Cotto threw a ton of jabs. Difference is Herrerra actually connected. You don't get credit for throwing a ton of punches but miss 500 of the ones you throw. Canelo slipped his punches. Danny blocked Herreras punches with his face. Herrera landed 139 jabs alone. Cotto landed just 54 despite throwing almost 400 of them. How you expect to win a fight with your jab when you land that few at a 14% rate? lol

His jab was ineffective because of Canelo's defense and countering. And he was killed in the power punch department because he was scared to trade with Canelo for fear of being knocked out.

I could see giving the close rounds to Cotto. It's still 8-4 though.

That's fine everyone has their way of scoring the fight. But Cotto fans need to have some humility, its takes away from Cotto.

no everyone has their fav fighters. most people aren't consistent in scoring. if you notice in pac marquez 3 everyone claimed robbery when pac threw and landed a lot more but marquez landed cleaner. then in floyd-pac floyd threw and landed slightly more(compubox was trash as always) but pac landed much cleaner and most people still thought floyd won which was directly contrary to what they had been saying before. now in the cotto-canelo fight canelo landed cleaner and most people thought he won so its strange how they went along scoring based on clean punches until the floyd fight where they suddenly scored based on "outboxing" or "total punches" instead of quality of punch.

people should score based on who landed cleaner or they should score on some other criteria that they want to make up like who controlled who, who landed more without any nuance, but to go back and forth just reeks of bias.

This is true. Canelo always steals rounds by landed 1 or 2 big shots from someone who outboxed the whole round. Look at the Trout fight, he takes a nap for the first 1:30 while Trout is boxing him landed his shots then Canelo wakes up and lands a couple big shots at the end to steal the rounds, its pathetic.
