There's a certain middleweight boogeyman who hasn't fought anyone close to these fighters caliber. In fact, Garcia and Guerrero are much better, accomplishment wise, than any fighter on the hypejob's resume.

I would be ok with this fight if we are getting Garcia VS the Thurman-Porter winner afterwards....if that fight is even happening.

And it's not like Danny Garcia is the greatest and he's fighting little old Robert Guerrero like everyone is saying. Garcia showed vulnerabilities against lesser opponents. So I don't think this is a bad match up at all. It's a good match up for where Danny Garcia is currently. If Mauricio Herrera fight and Lamont Peterson fight was officially a loss on Danny Garcia's record, no one would say this is a bad match up.

Mostly because Guerrerro has looked like **** recently and this feels like a sacrificial lamb type deal.

In the welterweight division, there are Pacquiao, Bradley, Thurman, Brooks, Porter, Maidana, Khan and Guerrero. Let's look at the options here. Pacquiao and Bradley are with HBO and TR, while Garcia is with Haymon. You already know. Maidana is retired. Thurman and Porter are scheduled to fight each other. Khan already happened. Kell Brooks is fighting Chaves I believe. Rios is retired. Sounds like the obvious choice was Guerrero. And don't pick out a random name just to prove me wrong like "uhh Andre Berto tho."

You don't think Matthysee's stock has plummeted? Because, that's what I was saying. No matter how great it was at the time, the value of that win has been diminished, be it unjust or otherwise. Like Rigo beating Donaire. It just doesn't impress people like it did a couple years ago.
If Danny wants respect, he's gotta behave like an undefeated star. People see him as a protected fighter being processed through the star-maker machinery. I think he deserves better but he'll have to earn it.

Guerrero has done nothing in years and got his ass whipped in his last two fights. Paulie was supposed to be Garcia's intro to the weight. He had two WW catch weight fights before that. He should fight someone better than this now. This division is full of talent that won't fight each other.
